I am not usually a fan of sweets. But whenever I crave a sugary treat, my go to place is Swensens. Most might not be aware but Swensens serve the most decadent chocolate truffle ice cream IMHO. The chocolate truffle ice cream is not sweet at all which suits me just fine cos I don’t have a sweet tooth to begin with. But the truffle flavour is right on point which makes it so delightful. As I am not a fan of other ice cream flavours and whipped cream and toppings unless it is of my own choosing, I am glad Swensens offers an option of Build Your Own Sundae. I always choose 2 scoops of said flavour, sliced fresh strawberries and bananas as well as diced almonds. My B.Y.O.Sundae is served in a simple yet elegant plating. Till my next visit..

We ordered the Blue Velvet Cake, Rainbow Cake and Seafood Pizza. The cakes were totally scrumptious and I couldn’t decide if I like the Blue Velvet or the Rainbow Cake more. I have always thought Dean & Deluca has the best version of the Rainbow Cake ever. The Blue Velvet was a scene stealer with its Cookie Monster blue hue and tasted as good as it looks. The Seafood Pizza was unfortunately completely overshadowed by its dessert counterparts. Oh well. Mental note to just indulge in the delectable bakes here.

Went to Yardbird Southern Table & Bar with a few friends to try out the famed chicken and waffles and I was left sorely disappointed. Don’t know what’s the fuss about seriously. The chicken wasn’t exceptionally crunchy nor scrumptious. The waffles was soggy and watermelon was well, you know watermelon. I didn’t go back there again.
