One of my favourite cai fan places due to its variety and affordability! This plate of 2 veg + 1 meat ($2.90) is priced competitively, but they definitely do not skimp on flavour. I recommend the honey chicken - crisp with a sweet savouriness!

A really yummy plate of caifan ($3.80), albeit a little pricy! Liked that the vegetables were juicy with a great crunch. Very flavourful without being overtly salted!

I like my pork chop thin and crispy, so I generally prefer the curry rice from Jie Xing (01-173)! This one ($4) is thicker and occasionally tough/ mushy. Also a little more expensive!

Would not patronise this stall if not for the fact that it is the only mixed rice stall in the market - standards have fallen terribly over the decade! The rice is hard and lumpy with dismal servings ($3.60).

Really affordable fare! My group ordered 5 dishes and 4 bowls of rice ($14). The food is on the saltier side but very flavourful! Only gripe is that some of the dishes were cold.

Is it really hainanese curry rice if it’s not heaped into a messy pile?? Had a plate ($3.50) from one of my go-to stores. The pork chop is tender and crispy, slightly sweet and richly flavoured. Particularly like that the curry here packs a bit more spiciness than most places!

A meal here was surprisingly affordable, with a large variety! Three portions of vegetables ($2 each), one portion of meat ($3 each) and rice ($0.60 each) was almost too much for us. Thought the lady’s finger and spinach could be more tasty, but the eggplant was delish and the sweet sour pork really impressed me!

Hm I realised this stall changes hands often. It’s now run by NTUC, and offers concessionary meals ($2.50 for seniors/ union members). I like the extensive selection and the dishes are generally tasty, but it’s pricey for the portion ($4 for 2 veg + 1 meat). Might be that they counted the otah as a fish item, but it was largely flour and sorely lacking spice.

The selection of dishes is not extensive, but the food is good and portion generous. Got 2 veg + 1 meat ($3.30) - wasn’t fond of the taste of preserved vegetables in the beans / eggplant, but loved the garlic & dried shrimp in the cabbage. Chicken had a little too much batter but it was crispy!

One of my go-to stalls at ABC! The Hainanese pork chop always satisfies with its tender meat and crispy batter. Aunty was super nice and let me get 2 half portions of egg because I couldn’t decide which to get! Both are silky smooth and flavourful. The rice ($3.50) also comes with self-serve spinach egg soup. #oldisgold
