A steal for 225g of fresh Japanese-style sashimi. They even provide soy sauce and wasabi. Refreshing after all the greasy burgers in NZ. We also got the salmon roll and salmon pate, both of which were decent.
The medium cup gives you two flavours which was tough to decide as they have a tonne of interesting stuff. Eventually settled for mascapone and fig, and a white chocolate flavour which were delicious. Actually preferred this to another more lauded gelataria in town as it was less sweet and cloying. A medium cup is good for one person.
If I'm going to pay premium for a kong bak pau it better be good. Fortunately the venison bao didn't disappoint. Came with buttered silver beet, picked beetroot, peanut and mungbean. All very interesting and eaten together really hits the spot.
Curiosity got the better of me, and so I decided to add chilli in my hot chocolate for an additional dollar. Oh how i regret doing so because this would've otherwise been one of the best cuppa hot choco ever.
Problem is, they don't warm the stuff up for you, causing the otherwise tasty pastries to be a bit limp and soft. The boston cream donut was however delicious and recommended. Great for breakfast or a midday snack.
The only recommendation I got for NZ. And the one that pops up at the top of every must-try list of to-eats in NZ: The Fergburger. Went back twice and tried four burgers. This one was the pork belly. Two slabs of pork belly with tender meat, melt-in-your-mouth fat, but not so crispy skin. The hashbrow was an added surprise.
