Good points first - I liked that it was mild and very creamy - texture was good, yet not too jelat. However, the base was so thin and feeble. The menu stated "wholemeal crust", but the crust was barely there. I would have appreciated a thicker crunchy crust, so that we get textural variation - creamy soft cheesecake with crunchy buttery crust.
Josper grilled secreto cut of Iberico! They were sliced to a good thickness (it's thin, but still has a bite), and was rather meaty and juicy. Though not the most tender, it was still enjoyable, and the chimichurri gave some additional flavour + crunch. Certain pieces had a thin layer of crispness at the sides, which I liked.
Having been to Spain earlier this year, I've had a fair share of spanish tortillas and this one measured up, I liked it! Upon slicing into the Spanish omelette, the juices all flowed out. Pretty flavourful with a creamy eggy centre and chunks of tender confit potatoes, alongside chorizo that wasn't too salty. Best eaten hot!
These baby squid were breaded with semolina, giving a light delicate crisp (not a hard crunch), which we enjoyed. The squid also wasn't overcooked, no toughness/rubberiness here. Was a nice snack to munch on.
This arrived piping hot! It reminded me of the candied sweet potato from dong bei ren jia. Soft, fleshy eggplant fried in a light batter and coated with honey. It’s not super crisp, but still a nice snack to accompany the mains.
These were p nice as well! Sufficiently tender, and the char on the skin was satisfying. Was rather easy to eat as the meat just fell off the bone upon prying. Pairs well with the mustard sauce! The other sauce is BBQ sauce I believe. The side veg contained potatoes, zucchini and carrots. Liked the potatoes which were v nicely roasted - soft but not mushy!
Was pleasantly surprised by this! The seafood (prawns, mussels) were pretty fresh and 鲜甜, and most importantly not overcooked. It’s saucy but not too wet. The sauce was very tasty, the peppers & onions in it gave very nice flavour. Portion was just nice for the 3 of us!
This was wonderful. The mackerel was done very well, great textures and smokiness was just right. The corn tuile was crisp, and the escalivada blobs were flavourful. We liked this very much and ordered a second piece after having the first!
This was my fav dish for our meal there! Stuffed with creamy mushroom, cheese, red pepper and ham. The toast was crisp, and I may be biased to this dish bc I love toast! The mushrooms were nice.
Expected more from this bc the reviews for this was not bad, but it wasn’t anything to shout about. The prawns weren’t overcooked, and the sauce was very savoury, but I felt that it was a little too salty as the meal progressed. The bread was strange to be honest, but it was okay when dipped in the sauce.
The grilled octopus was not bad, it came with a bean purée (at least that’s what I think it is) and a savoury sauce. Had a smoky charred taste which was nice!
