Family bonding
last part one the bee cheng hiang grillery - wrapped bakkwa with cheese in the middle :) I prefer my cheese just A LITTLE melty but this was still good, quite an interesting twist on what looks like a katsu-style dish. great add on to the mains we ordered!
apart from mains, bee cheng hiang grillery has awesome sides too - as a mushroom lover, this was 10/10, wrapping them in bacon bakkwa was a great touch. only wish that the dish could be a bigger serving!
yet another cool twist on pasta from bee cheng hiang grillery - for pork floss bun (or just pork floss) fans, this is is a flavourful lunch portion to have.
another great dish from the bee cheng hiang grillery ^^ very tasty broken-down burger that was both easy on the stomach as it was on the eyes!
went for a lunch with my fam nearby home and this was a great find! adding freshly grilled bak kwa to aglio olio instead of bacon was a great way to reimagine a snack that we all only usually eat during CNY, this was a creative mix and I really enjoyed eating it :)
chose a place near home for dinner with the family on a saturday night, this place was a welcome find - the salmon was tender, flavourful and slightly pinkish (just the way we like it), and the signature garlic chill complemented the fish nicely. will definitely be back for seconds!
almost forgot to mention the appetisers! don’t be fooled by the appearance of a small portion of this salmon starter - it’s not only both tasty but also just the right amount of filling for an appetiser :) worth the additional $8 top-up!
another great main from the burpple 3-course ser menu worth mentioning is the salmon - just the right amount of pink, with the skin cooked to a crispy and tasty goodness. the ambience of the place also perfectly complements the food, and the terrace with its view of the city was a nice place to walk while waiting in between courses.
took the 3-course dinner deal from burpple, and got the kurobata pork as the main - pork was tender and easy to chew, well-flavoured and savoury with every bite. service was great as well and very happy with how the staff made an effort to remember who to serve which main to, and ensure that all the mains come together so we can all eat together :)
Went to Kooks for a Friday post-dinner treat with my parents and we got one Signature Lava Set (which is molten chocolate filling for the cookie) with coconut ice cream and one Matcha Lava Set with pistachio ice cream. The cookie is baked to perfection, with a soft gooey inside that oozes out with each scoop, and the ice cream is a great pairing with that nice blend of hot and cold melting in your mouth. Great dessert spot for a simple bit scrumptious bite!
