ALLY EATS
got these treats as part of mi birthday celebration!!
red velvet / triple chocolate peppermint/ cookies and cream / dark chocolate ganache
thought that the red velvet and dark chocolate ganache was a pretty standard affair but simply couldn't get enough of the triple chocolate peppermint!!
located within the deep recesses (a gross exaggeration - but we did have much difficulty finding the place) of pinnacle @ duxton, lies a "food court", which vaguely reminded me of timbre+, albeit in an enclosed area with (much needed) aircon!
absolutely loved the mushroom sauce on the burger!! they even properly asked for the doneness of the beef as well.
this cafe is my absolute favourite in the whole of singapore so far!! drop by on a weekday afternoon, and chances are that you'll be treated to a nice chill atmosphere to do your work, or catch up on a bit of reading (or gossip with friends 🤣)
the pancake was fantastic -- amazingly soft and fluffy despite its exterior. the vanilla softserve icecream was rly milky and not too sweet as well!!
there was a huge size (and correspondingly - price) difference their regular and large bowls!! felt a little too full after having finished the large bowl 😓 the truffle aroma was pretty enticing, but i thought the dish got more bland the more i ate it (potentially due to the larger portion LMAO). overall, still a pretty satisfying nomz!
wasn't too impressed by the waffle as it was a bit too moist to my liking (i prefer crispy belgian waffles). while the flavour ferrero rocher icecream was decent enough, i expected a bit more as i had heard good reviews about this icecream shop.
berries tasted fresh, and the berry compote was just the right amount of sweetness for me :$ would have preferred the vanilla icecream to be a little more milky, but the whipped cream was nice and sweet instead of overly fluffy and artificial tasting!
very well put together; pita bread was nicely toasted and still warm and went well together with the feta balls, egg (surprise!!!) and polenta. chilli chicken was a little dry and not well seasoned tho.
can't help but to think that the best part of this dish is the rice (rly fresh & fragrant!) and the ikan bilis / peanuts combi! chili could have been less sweet and a lot more spicy :$
my absolute go-to for cheeses that you can't get normally in sg! is omakase style; but shouldn't cost more than $25 per session (just for the cheese).
platter came w 8 different types of cheeses (let them know if u don't eat certain types of cheese!), and we were instructed on how best to enjoy them
am a regular at grounded by cmcr and i've got to say this has been the most novel dish i've had in a while! the impossible meatballs ($18) are perfect for sharing! the taste reminded me of mexican food :3 may be a bit much for a single person to finish bc of the strong flavours. went well with the workout bowl ($17) that we were eating
creme brulee ($14) was amazing!! it was light and creamy and very well done. smores cupcake ($5) had a lovely chocolate fudge centre that surprised us.
Was so-so, didn't know what to do w the generous amount of floss provided along with the maki.
