CBD Best Eats
Located at the heart of the CBD on level 40 of Capitagreen Building, you can get a panoramic view of the Singapore skyline while enjoying the wonderful Mediterranean inspired food.
One of the standouts was the perfectly roasted salmon atop a bed of couscous, eggplant and tomato relish ($36). The salmon was perfectly cooked with a nice crispy skin. I also liked the combination of flavours of the turmeric, saffron and tomato that go really well with the couscous.
The best part of the Hakumai Bento ($58) in my opinion is this angel hair pasta topped with fresh melt in your mouth uni. The flavours of the uni really added an extra richness to the already flavoursome pasta which i really like.
A well cooked salmon fillet on a bed of roasted cauliflower and hummus. Definitely a good place to have lunch with friends in the CBD area. The coffee here is really good and reminds me of the ones I had back in the days I was living in Australia.
Roast Paradises serves up some delicious mouthwatering charsiu and roast pork on a bed of springy noodles. The noodles soak up all the lovely flavour of the meat and you get a umami explosion in your mouth. Highly recommended trying when you are. In the area.
Hokkien noodles full of "wok hei" here at Seng Kee Local Delights. Very decent portion of hokkien mee for only $5.50. Add your desired amount of pork lard, spring onion and chilli to amp up the flavour. Trust me you won't regret it.
One of my staples whenever I am at Amoy Street is the beef hor fun from Pepper Bowl located at the 2nd floor.
For only $5.50 you get a generous bowl of goodness. Recommend adding 60cents for an onsen egg to bring the dish to the next level (trust me).
Affordable good Japanese food for a special occasion. Omakase means to trust the chef with your meal. I love to dine omakase style because we are allowing the skilled chef present the best seasonal produce in its finest form.
My first time trying blue pea infused pasta ($18). I had pasta shaped like stars which had mala chilli and tobiko sprinkled on top. Definitely worth a try.
Most of the dishes are designed for sharing. The umami from the Sea Urchin ($27) is not for the feint hearted. One or 2 bites is sufficient if not it will get very heavy on the palatte.
For the nuts lover, head over here for dessert. A double shot of empire combined with their hazelnut ice cream is the perfect end to a good meal.
The brisket burger was deliciously savoury but on the saltier side. Still think it's one of the better place to get your bagel craving satisfied.
When you feel like having good roast meats in a modern chic setting this is the place. One of the better roast meat choices in CBD area. Good for small groups as the portions come in a variety of sharing sizes.
