Order to share. If not it can be too gelat.
Warm, moist fluffy hotcakes with vanilla bean ice cream, berries and pumpkin seeds.
Expect to wait about 20 to 30minutes and these hotcakes are made fresh upon order.
Ordered the fish and chips, egg Benedict's and a side of crispy wings.
Enjoyed the side more than the mains. The wings were juicy with a crispy skin and taste better with a squeeze of lime which makes it zesty. The fish and chips was fresh meat coated in light batter. However, the eggs Benedict's was a slight disappointment. Bread was a tad too hard.
Food price is on the higher side but nothing much to rave about.
Ordered the creamy mushroom with sourdough plus topping of scrambled eggs ($12 plus $3), Candied bacon with buttermilk waffles which comes with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream ($14) and a side of truffle fries.
The sauce and scrambled eggs were both creamy and flavourful. But it made the sourdough kinda too wet being topped on it. Depends on personal preference, I prefer to dip my bread into the wet. Waffles was crispy on the outside with an airy dough. The bacon reminded me of bak kwa. Truffles fries are reasonable but nothing to shout about.
Expect to wait as this cafe is rather popular.
Get their coffee and you won't regret it. Shashuka was nicely done with the soft boiled eggs. The rosti was crispy on the outside too. Approx $50 for two pax.
High tea set which comes with one pot of tea. It's a must for each person to have one drink so my friend and I order another pot. The variety is way too huge so we got the staff to make recommendations. Ordered another lemon coconut tart. Total bill comes up to about $70.
Visit if you are a fan of their macarons and tea. The macarons are among the cheapest around at just $2 each. But there are better high tea sets out there with similar pricing.
Over ordered for two pax. Food are so-so. But love their desserts. $3.50 a slice which is simple pleasure.
Probably the best in the West. Ordered Thai style beancurd, chicken feet, roasted chicken and steamed chicken. Cost about $23 for the three of us. Chicken meat was tender and placed on a bed of crunchy beansprouts. Homemade chilli with a hint of sourness.
Do note that they close early on weekdays!
Used the Beyond deal and got these (Two Eclair's, two pies and two drinks) for $26. One of the best eclairs around and around 10 flavours to choose from. The pies are good too with buttery flaky crust. Worth it!
One of the best brunch places with consistent quality and big portion. Love the bread there!
