Dropped by for breakfast here after a walk at Botanic Gardens on Sunday. It has a lovely, cozy ambience and the staff are very helpful and attentive as well.
Ordered The Breakfast Works and Ice Mocha. Wait time was around 8 to 10 minutes.
The Breakfast Works is a really generous serving of grilled bacon slab, kurobuta sausage, scrambled eggs, rocket leaves, potato wedges, grilled tomato and brioche toast. The bacon slab was a tad chewy but well-seasoned. The kurobuta sausage was amazing, great flavor, great texture, exactly what I want in a sausage. Scrambled eggs were nicely done; the rocket leaves pair really well with the meat. Overall a pretty big and satisfying meal.
The Mocha (Ice) was well made. Fragrant, enjoyable and the barista accounted for the ice melting so it didn’t lose much flavor even after it melted. The chocolate sauce was a nice touch as it was balanced pretty well and didn’t make the coffee too sweet. I’d love to come back and try their other coffees.
Dropped by for dinner with a friend. Love the ambience; plus point for having a set of the five stones game and country erasers on every table. The staff are attentive.
Ordered the Laksa, Ice Milk Tea and an Otah side-dish. Wait time was around 5-10 minutes.
The Laksa was presented well. The noodles were good and soup was tasty but the cockles and their taste felt a bit too strong for me.
The Otah was amazing. Generous serving, good bite, great flavor. I could taste all the ingredients they used. Also, the spice will only hit you afterwards and it is quite strong. I’d recommend trying this.
Had dinner with a friend there. Love the cosy ambience. The staff are attentive and helpful.
Ordered the Buta Shogayaki Don ($10) and Kani Gratin ($8). Wait times were around 8-10 minutes.
The Buta Shogayaki Don was great. Tender pork slices stir-fried in ginger juice paired with rice. Very fragrant and cooked just nice. For the fussier eaters, there're no ginger slices. Only gripe was the portion was kinda small for a dinner to me but otherwise would be perfect if you are looking for food to pair with your alcohol.
The Kani Gratin was served in a crab shell. Nice touch. Gratin was rich, creamy and not mushy. Really well prepared. I'd recommend this one.
Dropped by this outlet for lunch. Had the Spicy Sesame Kaisen Don ($16.80) with Hokkaido Scallop Cream Croquette set and an Onsen Egg ($2).
The sashimi given was of a generous portion and very fresh. The spicy sesame sauce felt a tad too spicy for me but it complements the sashimi really well. Onsen egg was perfect. Overall, a very enjoyable meal that felt surprisingly light on the palate.
The croquette was crispy and not greasy at all. Scallop cream filling was very smooth and tasty. I could probably eat many more without feeling oversatiated. Highly recommend it.
