Japanese Restaurants
Our first time at Yakiniku Like despite the restaurant having opened almost a year ago. The long queue always deters us! Despite reaching just after they open, we already missed the first seating and had to wait about 45 minutes. After this meal we can really see the appeal though - the food is good and super affordable. The beef, I believe, is slightly marinated, but it wasn’t overwhelmingly sweet. The sauces also complement the beef well. We will definitely return in the future to try the other cuts of meat!
Tendon Kohaku’s Original Tendon (S$15++) is always a treat. The batter here is light and the sauce isn’t cloyingly sweet. One of the better tendons I’ve had here in Singapore.
Tendon Kohaku’s premium seasonal tendon for S$23++ contains wood smoked chicken, long beans, prawn, eggplant, and bacon tempura, and is served with half bowl of mixed chirashi and an onsen egg. We frequent Tendon Kohaku fairly often and their tempura never disappoints. This wood smoked offering provided a subtle but welcomed twist to the original tendon. Worth the money!
It was great. Was impressed by the food and the service. Would come back. Went at 5:30pm on a Friday, there was no queue (office crowd probably comes later).
