Saw a long queue for this stall, and I knew I had to try it! 😅 And now I understand why there was such a long queue for it! We ordered half a chicken ($11) and two plates of rice (50 cents each) which was just nice for two of us! 👍🏼 The chicken was very soft and tender, and the rice was fragrant and fluffy 😋 Their chilli was great as well - just the right amount of spiciness! Overall, really good and affordable chicken rice!
Hidden in Viva Business Park at Chai Chee, Bai Nian Niang Dou Fu serves really yummy and homely yong tau foo! 😋 Unlike other yong tau foo stalls, you don’t get a choice of items as each bowl comes with 7 different items (prawn ball, pork ball, bittergourd, white, black and gold rolls and beancurd). And all these are handmade! Each bowl comes with beehoon (and you can ask for more beehoon at no extra cost!) The chilli sauce is also really yummy and spicy 👍🏼 I preferred the soup version, but I think it’s really up to your personal preference. Really glad to have found this hidden gem and I will definitely be coming back for more 😊
Really decent burgers at an affordable price point! I tried Burg’s Classic Cheeseburger and added 60 cents for an additional fried egg. The beef patty was thick and juicy, and it came with cheese, pickled green chilli and crispy fried shallots. I like how they added their own local twist with the green chilli and fried shallots 😋 The burger also comes with thick cut fries, which were hot and crispy!
Really love the soup here! It’s super flavourful and sweet. Add chilli powder or chopped chilli into the soup to give it an extra kick! We ordered the jumbo sized portion, which comes with really thick and juicy prawns.
The prawn mee here comes in 3 sizes - small ($6), medium ($9) and jumbo ($12) and you can opt to have it dry or with soup. This was my first time trying their dry prawn mee, which comes with prawns sliced in halves, yellow noodles/beehoon and a mix of chilli sauce! The chilli was sweet, and I added extra chilli powder to make it spicier! The dry prawn mee also comes with a side of refillable soup, but I found that it just doesn’t taste as nice as the one in soup prawn mee. Nonetheless, the soup was still sweet and flavourful!
After hearing so many rave reviews of this place, I finally had the chance to try it! And it definitely did not disappoint 😋 I love how they drenched the entire plate in curry, which was flavourful but not too spicy! Do try their pork chop as well! Really good value for money.
This was such a refreshing treat on a hot day! 😋 This is your usual ice kachang but upgraded (because of the yummy vanilla ice cream!) Would have been better if there was more gula melaka, but that’s just a personal preference. Will come back for more if I’m ever at Tiong Bahru market again!
Singaporeans love long queues right? We waited 15-20min for this piping hot bowl of goodness! The regular lor mee is $3 but we added $1 for additional shark nuggets! (Do note that the regular one also has shark nuggets) The nuggets are essentially shark meat coated in batter and fried. While interesting, the nuggets didn’t taste that special to me! The lor mee itself was good though - starchy, vinegary gravy and yellow noodles that don’t contain that usual weird bicarbonate taste. So thumbs up from me!
