Best Cafes in Cheras
This homely cafe is known for its hearty and affordable rice bowls. For first-timers, a must-have is the Minced Pork Scrambled Eggs Rice (RM13) that is just as satisfying as it sounds. Fluffy rice is blanketed with perfectly scrambled eggs, minced pork and bonito flakes. If you're here on the weekend, you must try the Omelette with Pork Belly (RM20) – a buttery-smooth omelette with glazed pork belly and sourdough bread. Wash your meal down with a fruity Long Black (RM8) made with Artisan Roast beans.

Yes, this coffee bar IS located in the owner's grandpa's home. Pro tip: Look for a grey gate with colourful paper chimes hanging on it. Drip coffee runs the show with decent selection to choose from. On our visit, we spotted Sumatran (RM12) and Costa Rica (RM19) beans. We also like the milk-based Ah Gong Blend (RM12) that's not too creamy and naturally sweet. It's made sans an espresso machine! The barista uses a Moka pot to heat up the milk and a hand frother to create milk foam – very cool.
You’ll find the perfect pairing of dessert and coffee at this hip cafe near Sunway Velocity Mall. Raved highly by the Burpple community is the French Earl Grey Bubble Milk Tea Cake (RM25) that is best paired with an Americano (RM10). Think soft Earl Grey-infused chiffon cake stuffed with Earl Grey custard, topped with sea salt cheese milk foam and handmade boba. Burppler Joey Tin’s advice when digging into this masterpiece is to get each element in every bite. Ps. This cake is available in several sizes – perhaps for the next birthday celebration?
