Topsy Turvy
The mains all go very nicely with their sweet, sprightly and refreshing Aperol Slushie which helps to wash things down.
Ended my meal with the Love Potion which tastes as good as it looked! It’s a sweet floral drink that was refreshing and invigorating 👅✨
Accompanying my meal was the amazing Somersby Apple Mojito, a sweet and fruity drink that is bound to freshen your palate. This fizzy tropical drink had chunks of fruit thrown in as well, which I ate to end off my meal as a way to balance out all the protein I just consumed 😂
This promotion is available for a limited time till end of May so hurry down and give your mom a treat at Morganfield’s, Home of the Best Ribs in Town!
Accompanying the meal was my huge mason jar of Mojito that doesn't seem to end no matter how much I drink 😂 not that I am complaining! An uncommon sight, the mojitos here comes with a stick of sugarcane for the OG experience - chew on it long enough for the juice to come out and simply discard the stick thereafter. Drinks here are on the stronger side, but nothing too strong that'll give you a hangover so fret not.
The sangria here are really sweet and we’ve got to request for more ice to dilute it. That said, it was still a really good drink and the jug makes it perfect for sharing with the group!
While I usually drink teh when I'm having Indian cuisine, I find myself having an identity crisis when I ordered a Martini as my choice of drink. While it may come off a little strange to others, I do enjoy it regardless, as it was perfectly done. If you would like to celebrate an occasion with Indian cuisine without looking too shabby, I'd recommend having it here where you can end the night off with a nightcap.
Great ambience and chill vibes, perfect way to end off the day.
First of the Progressive Cocktails I tried - The Mojito No. 5, is a safe choice for the less adventurous, as it was decently sweet with a very faint alcohol taste. Comprising of rum, blackberry, lychee, lime juice and mint, this is a fruity concoction that will certainly win the hearts of all sweet toothers and those who prefer something light.
Next up I have the Thyme Lemonade, which evident from the name, consists of thyme and lemon juice (duh~), and a very strong vodka taste. The staff was explaining how the alcohol taste will only be apparent once it slides down your throat, but nope, at first mouth the vodka smell hits you in the face.
Situated at a corner of Botanical Gardens, those travelling via public transport can alight at the park's entrance and enjoy a nice stroll in while taking in the park's floral display. Once you've arrived at the Garage, go up the stairs to the second level where Botanico is at. Featuring a lush interior, they also have an 'alfresco' bar where it's half air conditioned too. Arrived early and hence called the shots on our sitting area, I opted for the indoor space. The staff was extremely friendly, recommending drinks while we (my friend arrived shortly after) were waiting for the rest. What I've got here is their Progressive Cocktail, the Garage Gin'onic - which is a concoction made up of gin, tonic and elderflower. It’s an alcoholic drink in the form of jello and nicely plated for Instagram likes. Talk about starting the day on a high note 🥂
An Unusual Wake Up Call is, well, unusual, given the ingredients used to make up this concoction. Comprising of Hendrick’s Gin, Lime Juice, Rosemary Syrup, Egg White and Chili Padi, some may frown at the thought of a spicy cocktail, but their rendition here is bound to make you think twice. At the first sip, the gin and chili blended together nicely, but soon that slow, slight hint of chilli that flowed down my throat was warming and exciting. The heat wasn’t too much till it put my mouth on fire, but just enough to make known its presence. An Unusual Wake Up Call indeed.

An interesting name that caught the attention of everyone at the table. Served in that old school coffee cup, it does bring back fond memories of the past, served along with the jewel gem snack I loved so much when I was a kid. This concoction comprises of coffee infused scotch, Guinness Stout reduction foam, Cardamom Bitters and sweetened with maple syrup. Both a coffee and a cocktail, this might just be the cuppa you need after brunch.
Thanks @jekyllandhyde.sg for the hospitality, and @burpple for the invite!
