Hawker Fare
Seriously does not taste like how it looks. I won’t return here for the hokkien mee again, eventho the seafood was decent and quite fresh.
Did not taste like kl hokkien mee and lack the wokhey. The lard was generous though.
Verdict: 2.75/5
This is the best Malaysian style CKT found in SG. Usually the SG style is more to the sweeter side. This is savoury and spicy which is what I prefer.
The shrimps are fresh and has loads of chives and bean sprout in the dish. Fulfills my craving for a plate of Penang CKT as this has loads of wokhey and uses lard when cooked.
Verdict: 4.5/5
Overly hyped Hakka ytf. Definitely just average YTF in SG. Tastes a bit like factory made but it’s supposedly fresh.
The steamed fish hk style was really yums though, I would order this again but not the YTF.
Verdict: 2.5/5
the closest to Malaysian YTF that I can find in SG. The turnip biscuits at the top of the photo are my faves! The “lai fun” which is an Ipoh specialty noodles are freshly made too so it’s a really a great combo.
Very affordable prices except the queue can get long on weekends/ peak hours.
Fixes my craving for Malaysian YTF and probably one of the better ones in SG.
Verdict: 3.5/5
The last time I came here was several years ago and i remember the food served was decent but this trip was super disappointing. I was excited but only the chicken wings were delicious.
The rest of the dishes were 5/10 or even less. Prices are expensive and the hawker centre was packed with tourists (maybe it was a Sunday that’s why) so I really do not think I’ll return here anytime soon.
