Chocolate lovers, listen up! This neighbourhood dessert spot highlights ice cream made with single-origin chocolate — it's no wonder the place is constantly packed, so save this for off-peak hours. First-timers should go with the Double Scoop ($7) to try the chocolate ice cream in varying cocoa percentages, like a smooth Ecuador 40% for something sweeter and the Signature Belgium Dark 60% for a darker, bittersweet flavour. To balance out the richness of the chocolate, add the Sesame Waffle ($4) for a fragrant base. Non-choc fanatics, expect other exciting flavours like the Avocado Gula Melaka and Lychee Raspberry.

Another Malaysian foray into Singapore, this ice cream joint in the Forum uses alternative milks in place of dairy to produce healthier desserts. These are essentially gluten-free, vegan and contains no processed sugar — how's that for a guilt-free treat? Favourite flavours include the surprisingly rich and sweet-savoury Salted Chocolate Chip, the creamy and light Blue Planet made with blue pea flower and the fragrant, nutty Banana Walnut. While a Premium Single scoop costs $6.90, we'll vouch for going with the Premium Double scoop ($8) for double the goodness. Plonk all that onto the flourless Gluten-Free Cone ($1) made with almond and flax seeds to bring flavours to the next level.

This fresh addition to bustling Club Street boasts delicious, well-executed steaks at affordable prices. You can almost always expect a crowd here, and for good reason. The 200g Feather Blade Steak, priced at a comfortable $21, is sous vide, and then grilled to give it a tender yet charred flavour. Seasoned simply with salt and butter, the result is hearty, melt-in-your-mouth goodness. The variety of sauces are great too — choose from classic Bearnaise, French Red, mala-inspired Asian Sichuan Peppercorn or the Horseradish Cream with Chives. Pair your meaty main with a glass of red or two and you've got date night sorted.
