This plate of beehoon is good for 3-4 to share if you're getting accompanying zhi char dishes as well. It has a decent amount of wok hei, and the noodles are al dente, making it a really nice dish overall. However, it is quite pricey given the amount of protein (meat) that was on the plate was rather little.
Putien serves many other dishes apart from the noodles here, but the noodles is a must get everytime i'm there. Having grown up in a heng hwa family, i realised how difficult it is to get authentic henghwa food. (The authentic places are mostly not located at convenient spots), but putien does it quite well.
The noodles are hearty and comforting - have the beehoon with their in house chilli! Pretty pricey for the amount of ingredients in the noodles - but it is still rlly yummy
Sinful, but really good! The mantou is perfectly fried and the pork complements the buns really well - a must have everytime i'm at putien
The set lunch comes with (i) a bowl of egg noodles (2) your choice of dumplings (iii) a drink.
TLDR; loved it, really worth it with burpple 1 for 1 (becomes $8 a set)
The dumplings come in a variety of flavours - from adding cheese, to smoked duck, to curry etc. I preferred the original/smoked duck ones.
I loved the noodles!! It was springy and was garnished with a lot of fried shallots, which made the whole dish rlly fragrant!
The food at Jade is generally of really good quality! The chefs try to elevate chinese cuisine by incorporating western ingredients such as foie gras, as well as try to add acidity to their food through fruits such as passion fruit, amongst others.
Interesting and pretty good!
I love crystal jade's la mian, kou shui ji, and this banana red bean pancake!
It has a crisp exterior with a gooey sweet interior, it is to die for!
This is a zi char store that serves decent food, although nothing super amazing in my opinion! The milk powder pork ribs is one of their most popular dishes - you either love it or hate it!
I personally dont enjoy the mix, but i know of people who love it
I absolutely love this! The dish is served cold, which is really refreshing. I cannot take stuff that are too spicy, and this is just nice for me. Can always add more chilli offered at the side if you want somethinf spicier!
The chicken is soft, silky and tender, yums!
This average sized lobster was fresh and really yummy! They can prepare it in a few ways - steamed with chinese wine, steamed with egg, amongst others.
Generally, my family loves this restaurant because it's homely and reasonably priced! It is a teochew restaurant so if you are a fan of orh nee, be sure to try that out too! (The ngoh hiong and oyster omelette is super yums too)
This dish was amongst the many other dishes that we ordered!
The dishes here are priced extremeley reasonably, and taste good! I loved this 水煮鱼, as well as the dumplings, and a beancurd skin appetiser that they had!
The only drawback for me is that the food is slightly on the salty/oily side, but I guess it's ok for a once in a while treat!
Not for the faint hearted because some dishes can get quite spicy 🔥
