Japanese
Clam soup base, medley of mushrooms, springy noodles. Mushrooms were really a good addition to the earthiness. Clam soup base was just salty without a dimension in flavour. Noodles were springy and sort of whole meal like. Why is this Michelin tho?
The truffle aroma was intense! The mince beef was very well marinated and the wagyu steak was perfectly cooked to medium rare. The egg was slightly overcooked though, but enough to coat the rice. Overall a good Beef Don that I would have when I am in the area!
Sauce was slightly sweet for my liking and the sauce could be torched a bit more. Decent portion for the price as the salmon was thick and the fish roe was really generous. Worth a try!
Affordable Japanese food! Wide variety of fresh fish in generous portions. Nothing to complain about! The rice could be slightly more vinegary but generally a filling and satisfying meal!
Although it’s only $14 (with soup and chawanmushi), the quality of the fish is great. I love how the slices are not too thin and the fish is still really fresh. There is also a great amount of tamago, radish and ginger that balances out the heaviness from the Japanese rice. One of the places where they don’t skimp on quality just because of a lower price!
Decent bowl for the price! Salmon was fresh (but could be torched a bit more) and loved how they don’t skimp on the other ingredients. A really good place to get your fix of Japanese dons without breaking the bank! Service was excellent too!
Excited to try this because I’ve never been to soba specialty restaurants in Singapore. The soba had sort of a whole-wheat texture, which made it slightly harder. This helped to prevent it from being soggy in the hot soup! The soup base was salty but they provided a flask filled with bonito stock so you can adjust the saltiness. Price is quite steep imo but it is a place worth trying, if you want something different from the thousand ramen shops in the area.
Good for value! Generous servings of fresh fish drizzled with sweet soy sauce. The avocado chunks added a creamy mouthfeel to the dish. Simple and comforting meal.
Nothing to shout about imo. Salmon was fresh but the fish skin filling was soggy. I think if it was crispy it would be so much better.
Smoky unagi brushed with sweet sauce paired well with the creamy mayo and the cod roe. A must order imo!
Fresh, generous with great variety of fish. Rice was well-seasoned with a tinge of sweetness which complimented the natural saltiness of the fish. Came here using eatigo (40%!) on a weekend afternoon and this made our meal REALLY WORTH IT!
Service was great and ambience is perfect for a quiet afternoon.
Asked them to aburi my sashimi haha. Portion size was good, fish slices were quite thick and the rice was nicely flavoured with Japanese seasoning. The price point was a bit high imo. But now with Burpple Beyond it warrants another visit!
