✨: Upon entry, the greenery filled space greeted me, exuding a sense of calm and serenity. The petite and intricate ice cream cakes lining the clear display attested to the establishment's high level of dessert craftsmanship. ⁣

💬:⁣⁣ This cake amazed looks-wise more than it did taste-wise (and price-wise HAHAH). It tasted just like any other chocolate and nut flavoured dessert. Was expecting a stronger hit of alcohol, but was sadly let down. Overall, not bad at all, but not memorable. ⁣

Still love the place and would 10/10 recommend for the comfortable environment. Would love to re-visit and give their other offerings a shot. ⁣

Nagoya Mazesoba [L: RM23; S:RM21]⁣⁣⁣

✨: The slight kick of spice from the pork mince and the richness the egg yolk introduced to the chewy noodles made for a perfect symphony of flavours and textures when combined. Like my first ever mazesoba at Hibikii (1 post back), I very much enjoyed the combination of the tangy vinegar and the creamy noodles. In comparison to Hibikii’s version, Hanabi definitely has more well-rounded and balanced flavours (Hibikii’s was quite heavy on salt). ⁣

💬: I only wish I lived closer to Menya Hanabi :( And that I got add-ons of cha shiu and a ramen egg 😢 ⁣

As much as I enjoyed my meal, I initially doubted if I’d have any will to go back. Now that it’s been a good 2 weeks since my visit, I’ve got to say I have a craving for mazesoba 😭

Black Forest Waffle (Mini) [RM18]⁣⁣

✨: The waffle itself was so incredibly light. The outer shell, in terms of texture, had the qualities of a crisp and thin kuih kapit (CNY cookies are the only things I can draw comparison to at the moment given I’m stuffing myself silly with them every day). The combination of flavours in the dish was spot on-- bursts of refreshing berry jam complemented by rich and silky chocolate ice cream. Needless to say, my friend @v.c.w.s and I went in full on ATTACC mode on the poor waffle. ⁣

💬: However, based off of my previous visits to Foret Blanc, their other menu offerings are nothing to shout about, so just go straight for the waffles if you ever visit :> ⁣

Just thinking of the waffle makes me happy so if anyone is down to go again hmu AHAHA
