The steak was tender to bite, cooked at medium rare.Comes with rock salt at the side if you need extra seasoning. But definitely not heavenly as made out by other reviewers here. Not much of charcoal / chargrilled aroma you would expect. Butterscotch coffee was great! But for $7 i expected a full glass at least ;/. It is only half a glass, not worth i would say. Would come here again to try out other dishes.
Since it is a steakhouse, you would think their steaks wont disappoint. IT WAS A DISASTER.
STEAK:
I ordered their best seller, a new york strip medium rare. The fat was not rendered, so it still tasted raw, steak was not seasoned. The meat texture was tough and rubbery overall.
SIDES/ SAUCE:
The price of the coleslaw is $3.90. The given portion is even smaller than your regular sized KFC coleslaw. Yes i kid you not. It was sour too. The accompanying sauce for the steak was salty and it honestly tasted like concentrated chicken stock. Overall it was a bad experience. I took the recent bad reviews here with a pinch of salt and i regret it terribly.
Waffle wasnt as fluffy as expected. Ice cream quality and texture wasnt as good as expected: melted into milk liquid almost instantly. Salted caramel is a better alternative if you dont mind no 1 for 1 offers
Complete Japanese-esque experience in this bowl of beefy goodness! The beef slices were flavourful and tender, although they could be more generous with the beef in my opinion. An onsen egg and grilled daikon is further added to complete this dish!👌
Chicken & Waffles: Chicken was juicy and tender, but it suspectingly tasted similar to those pre- marinated chicken sold at cold storage😂. Waffles were made thin, and at the same time soft and fluffy. Watermelon cubes and some olives were surprise additions to the side salad!
Oyster and Cod Fish was really good.
Sashimi was alright, weird though it doesnt have a local’s favourite, which is salmon. Prawn sashimi may not be everyone’s cup of tea.
Overall i feel that the 1 for 1 for this omakase is a marketing gimmick. The items and portions on this menu is definitely worth less than $60 per head if you would ask me, let alone $120. You are not getting the “omakase” experience as well. i have concluded that “Special” set menus made specifically for burpple promos definitely will not save you any money. You usually end up paying the full cost for the meals. Ichiban boshi or sushi tei are definitely more worthy options.
Pork chop was unexpectedly tender, juicy and delicious! The texture is almost like a medium done ribeye to be honest! The accompanying side of sauted potatoes complemented this dish really well. One small gripe i have would be that the portion is small. 1 for 1 promotion equals a smaller portion? I wonder. Nevertheless highly recommended for pork lovers!
Rissoto was good. The rice was well cooked and absorbed the goodness of the mushroom broth. The aroma of herbs made the dish even more satisfying. Slices of marinated chicken completes the rissoto. Simple comfort food. Bang for your buck even without the 1 for 1 if you would ask me.
Broth was delicious, comparable to the more popular keisuke king brand of ramen offered in Singapore.
Aburi char shu was marinated and flame grilled to perfection. The sinful fats literally melted in my mouth. Fret not if you have to wait a while for the food as there free flow appetizers like bean sprouts and corn available!
Just located inside the lobby of Hotel Nuve Heritage, it may be hard to spot the restaurant at first sight. The Pulled pork burger had a decent amount of pork strips drenched in a sweet bbq sauce, however bun was overly toasty and hard. The carbonara was the saving grace as there was a good amount of truffle infused oil in the sauce.
Overall the food was a little pricey and would only recommend to patronize unless you are nearby.
