Date Night🥂
Tagliatelle Florence ($29) handmade tagliatelle tossed with homemade Italian sausage, mushrooms and truffle combined in a light cream sauce. The pasta itself was excellent, sausage was tasty as well. However, I felt the overall dish lacked the punch in flavor that I was looking forward to. It was tasty but not particularly special.
Al Borgo Pizza ($32) homemade Italian sausage and shrimp on a light white sauce base, with generous amounts of cheese and truffle flavor, topped with greens and cherry tomatoes. This was pretty good, all ingredients used were fresh, the crust was excellent as well.
Laksa Prawn Pasta ($20) came with 5 fresh prawns. Was pleasantly surprised by how generous they were with the prawns! Honestly, the laksa taste was not very strong but instead, tasted more like seafood/prawn base (not complaining though because it was still tasty and flavorful). Linguine was al dente, overall would recommend this if you’re a fan of seafood/prawn. Ambience is cosy and nice as well!
Truffle Carbonara Pizza ($28) the crust was amazingly done, toppings were pretty decent, not too overwhelming. Would recommend this pizza! Ambience is nice and cozy as well.
Ajiya is a cozy little restaurant that allows you to DIY Okonomiyaki!! Priced at $15-$16 per Okonomiyaki, with a wide range of sides and other staples such as Yaki Soba. Staff are friendly, the DIY Okonomiyaki is fresh and they are generous with ingredients too! Highly recommend this place :) only downside is that the place is small, with mostly counter seats + only a couple of booth seats thus may not be the best place for huge groups! I also strongly recommend the Iced Wildberries Hojicha drink ($4.50) to go along with the Okonomiyaki
Homemade Tagliolini with Prawn, Lemon and aromatic Breadcrumbs ($22). Pasta was al dente and sauce was superb, could be slightly more generous with the prawns though.
We had the stuffed schiacciatta (truffle) ($10 for small portion), porchetta ($9 for small portion) and the crispy seafood ($12) which were all delicious! The truffle schiacciatta is a staple item I order every time I eat there as the bread is fresh and the truffle stuffing is fragrant and flavorful but not overpowering. Porchetta was nicely done. Crispy seafood came with yummy dipping sauces as well. Tried some of the mains previously but I wasn’t too impressed. In my opinion, the items from the appetizer/Italian Street food menu are a lot more impressive.
