Never had crème brûlée french toast before (didn’t even really know such a combo was possible) but this was the highlight of our meal!

Highly recommend ordering this delicious breakfast dessert if you’re at @elixir.boutiqueroasters. The french toast is soft and fluffy (albeit not really eggy like you might expect…) and the creme brulee is chef’s kiss. Loved the fruits as well.

As for the spaghetti bolognese, the description said beef ragu which was what I was expecting but actually it’s spaghetti bolognese and not beef ragu - they are two completely different things. Consensus was that it’s quite mediocre and I think steep at $18++, not worth ordering, anyone could make it at home. Portion size is a bit too much (even for two people) and the flavour is a little bland although the pasta is al dente. There’s much better pasta in the vicinity over at Da Paolo or Atlas Coffeehouse. I probably should have ordered beef rendang instead. Might try that next time. Also, this place has more of a nighttime/bar kind of vibe rather than a daytime cosy/brunch kind of feel to it.

Blueberry pancakes, I missed you 😭 Am always apprehensive about going out but I haven’t had these pancakes in what feels like a year!! Gotta come back for a stack of the chocolate raspberry pancakes when they return. Also, really wish a lactose-free version of these blueberry pancakes existed, for my body was not blessed with buttermilk loving genes (don’t you just hate when you don’t inherit the superior genetics that are in your bloodline?! Groan) 🥞🫐 I hope @clintonst_sg can accede to my request to one day make delicious dairy-free pancakes, or maybe have a fewer pancakes option for the lactose intolerant like me 🥲

😍 Crispy, buttery croissants filled with delicious lemon curd and topped with a meringue! From @brotherbird_bakehouse, these croissants are in ridiculously high demand. On the fifth day of trying to buy these croissants, I woke up extra extra early to get there and there were literally 20 people in the queue in front of me 😂 Thankfully, by the time it was my turn to place an order, even though almost all the flavours were already sold out, there were still 5 of these lemon meringue croissants left. Out of courtesy to the people queueing behind me, I got a few, not all 5.

Corned beef, honey baked ham, swiss cheese, bechamel sauce, carolina mustard and a fried egg in a sesame seed bagel! 🥯

Day 5 of Circuit Breaker: It’s my mum’s birthday today so I treated my parents to 2 chicken & waffles (and 2 scrambled eggs) 🧇🐔 The delivery came with two tubs of honey tabasco sauce, maple butter and a free brownie! I thought the food would arrive at 12pm since that was the delivery timing and was told there would be a delay but it actually came before 11.30am, so that’s something to consider when ordering food delivery 🙈

Post-pilates chicken and waffle goodness 🧇🐓 10/10 would recommend. It’s $21++ and $2 for a second helping of maple butter.

My bagel was a little small today (was still hungry after finishing it) and I wish it was toasted! Also note that all their outlets are currently takeaway only :(
