Comes with prawn w mentaiko sauce, tea, miso soup and salad so I would say it’s a pretty good deal! :-) the sashimi was fresh and the generously portioned though the rice bowl isn’t the biggest! I love mentaiko sauce so I really enjoyed the tamago and the prawn
Was honestly SO impressed by how thick the chunks of salmon sashimi were and it was rather fresh!! Might be a bit small for big eaters so opt for the larger size - it’s rlllllyyyyy worth it with beyond
50% off selected speciality rolls all day on Wednesdays so had to give it a try!!! My favorite will definitely have to be all salmon all the time cos it has salmon sashimi AND seared salmon! Honestly I wouldn’t be willing to fork out $16++ for a roll bc it isn’t the most filling (as compared to Rollie Ollie imo) so Wednesday’s it shall be!!
So much goodness!!!! In a bowl!!! One gripe I had was that the sauce had some citrus-y flavor I wasn’t the biggest fan of but it made everything smell and taste super fresh ! But nonetheless the sashimi were all real good and legit fresh
My typical order at tanuki would be the salmon kaisen don but it wasn’t available here so it was time to shake things up!! Went for the yuzu miso salmon don which was served with their signature mixed rice that I am IN LOVE WITH??? The salmon (that was cooked to perfection) was drenched in this delicious yuzu miso glaze that was sweet and tangy at the same time & it was amazing
I love how there’s a variety of ways the salmon is prepared in each bowl and how fresh (!!!!) it is....truly a steal for the price and location (right in the heart of somerset!)
I was surprised by how much was packed into this seemingly small bowl - each bowl was accompanied with cherry tomatoes, Japanese pickles, cucumber and a sous vide egg, on top of your chosen main. I went for the honey glazed tofu which was sweet and juicy, and served in a generous portion! You can choose from 3 bases, and I opted for cha soba with roasted sesame sauce. They also offered free mentaiko sauce and this made for a very satisfying and filling meal, especially with such affordable prices!
Though some claim that the portion size has shrunk, this being my first time here, I thought the portion was rather reasonable for its price. The sashimi cubes were thick and fresh, and the sweetness of the rice paired well with the sashimi.
One of the more affordable set lunches I’ve had on weekends - Kinsa sushi offers a main, 2 sides, fruits, miso soup and green tea for just $15.90! I went for the Salmon tataki don, with salmon sashimi (cant get enough!) and fried sesame tofu. The salmon was seared nicely, served atop purple rice and accompanying vegetables. Though the portion may seem small, it was surprisingly quite filling! The 3 rather thick slabs of salmon sashimi was relatively fresh and the fried sesame tofu didn’t leave an oily taste. Overall a really good lunch set, and I’ll definitely be back to try the rest of the mains such as their udon and sobas!
Not outstanding, with the mentaiko sauce overpowering the roll, but still decent for the price!
Generous portion for the price, sashimi was fresh and overall very filling! Miso soup was a little bland, but given that it’s a free add on, can’t complain much :)
Consisting of swordfish, salmon sashimi, tuna, tamago and roe the presentation was already a feast for the eyes in terms of color and plating! The fish was fresh and paired well with the rice. While the rice was sufficient for me, some may find it on the smaller side. Would definitely come back! Also heard that there is 20% off for weekday lunches and a side so that’ll be a pretty filling meal!
