Visited Rasa Sayang Western Food to try their CHICKEN CHOP after watching @eatbook 's youtube video on chicken chops in Singapore!
Ordered two sets of chicken chop ($7.50) for both of us. While the price was pretty steep for a coffee shop meal, the price was still ok if you compare to other western meals.
However, the chicken chop was not as MIND BLOWING as we expected it to be. To us, the food was pretty average? My main gripe was that the food was served lukewarm?? Even though we had to wait for the food to be served with a buzzer, the food was somehow not hot? Even the grilled chicken chop (understandable for the sides which will be pre-prepared for all the mains)
The sides here are fixed - garlic bread, coleslaw, baked beans, French fries. For those who do not eat coleslaw etc like me, you can make a special request to change it to more fries.
As for the creamy mushroom sauce that online reviews raved about, it was not WOW to us. The sauce tasted more like tomatish sauce to us, though we liked the addition of mushrooms to it.
The chicken chop itself was nicely grilled and juicy. Just that I felt that it lacked in marination.
Will I eat it again? Sure, if I am in the area. But I will not purposely travel all the way to Ang Mo Kio just to eat it.

These lobster dishes are super value for money! The lobster meat is also very meaty! Especially love the charred tomato sauce! Salted egg for the fried fish fillet was also a good choice!
Check these items at their outlets (refer to last photo for list of outlets) from now till 31 Jan 2023, whilst stock last!
Tried out the Ramen from @ato.mein ! The ramen is made from imported flour from Japan and the noodles are self-made! For the soup, real pork bones are cooked for 12 hours to make the delicious ramen noodle soup! All the ramen comes with black fungus, spring onions and an ajitama egg.
Chicken Confit ($13): This was the highlight of the meal for me! French and Japanese Fusion dish! Very impressed with the very tender chicken that is slightly grilled on the outside. The chicken was surprisingly flavourful, not dry at all. It was sooo good that one can just eat the chicken without dipping it in any sauce! The ramen for this item was the thicker cut ramen!
Spicy Tonkotsu ($11): This ramen was the thinner round kind of ramen. Be warned, this spicy soup is really spicy! Not for the faint hearted. Love how the two portions of tonkotus given was very meaty, not stingy at all!
Gyoza (6 pieces for $9): Must get side dish to complete the Japanese Ramen Meal! Gyoza skin was crisp and not dry/hard at all. Generous amount of minced meat, and goes well with the gyoza sauce and mayo (self service from the cutlery counter)!
Curry Croquette ($1.60): Tried this unique croquette because I rarely see such croquette sold elsewhere. Very delicious! It is like eating japanese curry rice in croquette form. Recommend to try this!
Roselle ($3): I kind of like this roselle tea! It was slightly sour, but not overly sour.
Yuzu Green Tea ($3): Very refreshing drink to quench all thirst! Fragrant jasmine green tea with some yuzu twist!
Do check out ATO Mein! They have 3 outlets located around Singapore:
-191 Sin Ming Avenue, Marymount Community Centre, #02-01
-906 Upper Thomson Road
-8 Wilkie Road, Wilkie Edge #01-22
Matcha latte ($2) and taro latte ($1) from bober tea! Bought from Lazada during the 11am-2pm flash sale! Super worth it!
I actually like this taro latte because it wasn't filled with like real mushy taro pulp (like m***s**'s) which I thought made it too heavy/jelat. Liked the light taro fragrance taste to it! Both drinks were super thirst quenching (after our Bukit timah Bukit panjang hike)!🌟
One Man Coffee! One of my favourite brunch spots after macritchie reservoir hiking. Second time back here! This time round tried the French toast ($15) and big breakfast ($19) and iced matcha latte ($6). The big breakfast came with avocados!! Something which you don't typically see served in the big breakfast elsewhere. Perfect chill weekend date place. The wait was around 30mins for indoor Aircon seats.

Super long time since we went on an ice cream parlour date!
This place was crowded on a Fri night at 8+pm! We had to patiently wait (in a long line) for seats. We got the double scoop ice cream ($7) - lychee raspberry and pistachio, and original waffles ($5). Had intended to get the black sesame waffle initially, but unfortunately it was already sold out (so was the chocolate waffle). This ice cream cafe actually specialises in chocolate! Obviously, with its name of "obsessive chocolate desire". There were at least 5 diff flavours of choc ice cream to choose from! But I wasn't a hugeeeee fan of chocolates (chocolates actually give me headaches because of a stupid thing I did as a kid: I ate chocolate and started spinning myself until I got dizzy. Lol. From then on chocolate is always correlated to headaches for me. Especially bitter chocolate haha)
Tried the black sugar konjac milk tea, ruby grapefruit green tea, Hokkaido chizu mango, taro latte and hazelnut milk tea! My favourites are the ruby grapefruit green tea and taro latte! 💜The Hokkaido chizu mango also had a thick puree mango layer👍🏻 (just that lactose intolerant girl here can't take too much cheese 🤭) do check out bober tea - Affordable drink options with wide variety of choice, situated just outside bishan mrt, super convenient! #burpple #burpplesg #boberteasg #bobertea #burpple #burpplesg
