Quality of the food was average at best. A lot of fat and sinew came with the beef, which made it very hard to it. There was a hint of truffle, but not very strong, and the char on the beef was clearly done with a blowtorch as it was uneven. The sauce was too salty, and also not spread out evenly. The only saving grace was that a large portion of beef was given. However, the worst part was the service, bowls were left on tables for a very Long time and the service staff (who seemed like the boss) was very rude, not genuine, and not keen to do business. Do yourself a favour and eat somewhere else if you can, don’t subject yourself to this! There are plenty of options around the area(:

We have been putting off trying açai in Singapore because they’re all so expensive. We got the opportunity to try one when Burpple Beyond came along. You get a choice of honey or almond butter, but you know we went for that healthy fat. The açai itself is really fresh and pure, and when you mix everything together, boy is it a refreshing dessert. And you can tell yourself you ate pretty well as this packs a ton of micronutrients . Randy’s is a great place to lose your açai bowl virginity with its high quality ingredients and generous servings!

First meal where the both of us have had such divergent views on the food. He thought it was a massive disaster while she was thinking of the next time they were gonna come back for it. He though that there was too much going on and that this was a confused burger: too many sauces, too many toppings. The worst part was that there was no distinct flavour nor any char in the beef , although this should have been the star of the dish. She, on the other hand, loved the jalapeños in the dish because she likes things spicy^^. She also liked what seemed like a potato roll (note: carbs are her weakness), which wrapped what was a juicy burger to her. She also liked that there was still texture to her patty, rather than those processed ones.

Note: He got a medium burger while she got a medium-rare so we could try out the different textures.

This was probably our favourite dish of the evening, but our wallets really took a hit for this, and it wasn’t that spectacular as well. The pork jowl was flavourful and tender, and had a slight char to it. The onsen egg also brought some creaminess to the pork when dipped into. However, nothing about it really stood out or blew our minds.

Worth a try because it’s not a dish that’s commonly offered but give it a miss if you have a limited Budget. While anything with mentaiko tastes pretty good because of the umami it boasts, everything else about this dish was mediocre. The crab that was used seemed to be of Fairprice crab sticks and the dish seemed to be completed by rice cakes or mashed up pieces of that of some sort.

We were really excited for the beef tongue because we haven’t had any for so long but this was quite a disappointment. There was not much flavour, and the worst part was the texture really left a lot to be desired. It was neither crunchy nor tender, but really chewy and tough. Not even the chili that was served with it could save it.

This dish was a really pleasant one and all the elements came together really well. The lamb was perfectly cooked; it was really tender. While there was a slight gamey-ness (only a tinge) to the lamb, we like this aspect of it. The pomegrenate really gave a nice pop to this dish and an added brightness. Finally, the quinoa nestled at the bottom of the plate soaked up all the juices from the lamb, and made for a great mouthful altogether.

We don’t believe this is a dish that’s served that commonly in Singapore, hence we decided to order it. While not perfect, it was a pretty satisfying dish overall. The sausage did not have too intense a flavor to it, and was thankfully not overdone. The chutney seemed to be the star of the show, with its acidity and bite giving good contrast to the dish. However, we don’t think a scotch egg can be called as such without a molten interior. Also, these were only warm when they arrived at our table, rather than being served piping hot.

Serving this on a slightly sweeter slice of bread (Pilsner loaf it seems) turned out to be an amazing decision by the Chef as it paired perfectly with the myriad of savoury toppings packed within. The gems inside the sandwich included pulled pork, prosciutto as well as tallegio cheese. This was our first time trying this cheese but it’s intense flavor and saltiness really went well with the bread.

We loved every single thing about this dish. The dumplings were plump yet had a nice bite to it. The best part was definitely the sauce, which had a great garlic and mushroom flavor to it. What’s surprising was that it wasn’t gelat and you just kept going back for more.

This escargot dish was a great starter and everything about it was good as well. The snails were perfectly cooked, not rubbery and had a nice bite to it. The best part was the accompanying garlic butter and parmesan that really enveloped each snail. This sauce went really nicely with the fresh bread that they served as well.

Everything on this plate was just delicious. The steak was cooked a perfect medium rare, and what made this cut perfect was that it wasn’t grainy or feel fibrous or tough at all. If anything, the steak could have used just a bit more pepper. But the sauce was so scrumptious, with a bit of acidity to provide some contrast. The fries were also perfectly fried, and well-seasoned. They were extremely crispy on the outside yet fluffy on the inside. Perfect lunch!
