Portion is just right, lunch sets (mainly all dashi-zuke) are as it is, not much variety like their dinner menu, so fewer drinks, and sides available. Lunch is somewhat crowded, dwindle down by 1pm, good to make a reservation. And be sure to check their monthly special.
Hidden within plain view, we would have walked by this little gem of a place had it not been hunger and being convinced by my friend that night on having the wagyu on their menu.Â
The two Japanese chef run this place, and have great control of timing for the food cooking. There is light and little seasoning to bring out the flavor of each dish without compromising the flavor of the ingredients. The chefs are attentive and will cook the dish accordingly by observing how quickly or slowly that you eat. They have excellent service as well in recommending what to order and good knowledge on the menu.Â
P.S. If you order the prawn, retain the head and you can request for the chefs to make a crispy prawn head 'cracker' dish. It slipped my mind that we could have done that, and it is something to not be missed!
Alcohol range is good in pairing with the food, it is the dessert that I find so perfect to end the meal with. The sweetness of it and the softness is something out of this world, and yet it holds that refreshing change in taste to leave you satisfied, but wanting more.Â
The menu will change accordingly to the season and ingredients that the chef orders. I'm most definitely looking forward to my next visit with Teppan Works!
