Meatless Mondays! ;) this soya porridge has a distinct hint of soy milk in it and was a tad bland (not a bad thing definitely as the vegetarian crisp toppings and the vegetarian tofu were a great addition). Recommended for Mondays (after the feasts over the weekends) ;)
Saw a long queue for this fishball noodles near the Chong Pang food centre, and decided to join in.
I’m a fan of the dry version with its vinegar (no lard for me!) coupled with the minced meat and meatball/fishball/dumpling. The mee pok was al dente and at the end of the dish, felt that I should have gone for the larger version!
Busy Saturday night for this restaurant.
I thought the fried rice was simple but definitely not as good as those in Chinese restaurants. Does lack a bit of ‘wok hei’ compared to the tze char stalls in the kopitiams.
The quintessential breakfast food with multiple variations at Mr You Tiao. Managed to try the chicken congee with youtiao for lunch. Nothing surprising about the congee, the usual sort with bits of chicken in them, could still see the rice grains and not as smooth as Cantonese congee.. The youtiao however was crunchy on the exterior with a good fluffy texture. Gets pretty crowded during mealtimes though and might take a while for seats to be available.
