CHINESE 🐓
Excellent lobster noodles with ginger and scallion... the noodles (similar to e-fu noodles) were redolent with deep lobster flavor... the lobster was exquisitely tender and (as a bonus) extremely easy to deshell without using hands!

Believe it or not, this was the first time I had @kamsroast_sg’s food. So thank you, Jo and @brandcellar for making it happen. To top it off, my family and I got to pair the food with authentic Hong Kong-style Milk Teas by @kamkeecafe, made possible by Kam’s Roast X @joy_luck_teahouse collaboration to launch the brand in Singapore. The “Pearl of The Orient”, a #milktea with brown sugar pearls, and the other milk tea with premium marine collagen were indisputably fragrant but I found them a tad sweet and gave my feedback to Jo when she asked.
I know many people enjoy the “Roasted Duck” from Kam’s Roast but I was more taken by their “Soy Chicken” and “Lap Cheong” (Preserved Sausages).
The former was very succulent and moist, and tasty right down to the bone. I even ate the skin, something I never do unless the chicken is fried, because the jelly-like texture of the “Soy Chicken” was appealingly springy.
As for the latter, there were two types, a Pork and a Goose Liver. Both were superb. I could have them alone with steaming hot rice and some blanched greens.
The portion of “Siew Yoke” (Roasted Pork Belly) I received that day was on the lean side. Not sure if it’s the restaurant‘s usual style but it’s ideal for those who want to indulge but fear the sin.
Sweeter than average in my opinion, the “Char Siew” came cut in chunks for a bigger chew.
For the accompanying carbs, we had egg noodles tossed in a light sauce as well as plain rice. I’m glad a serving of “Poached Hong Kong Kai Lan” was also included.
The “Marinated Cucumber in Vinegar and Garlic” was a piquant, crunchy little number that went down very well with us too.
When you order now from the link in their bio, you get to enjoy 20% off certain dishes. @kamsroast_sg provides islandwide delivery priced between $5 and $8.
The sauce came seperately and we are unsure if we should dip or pour the sauce over the dish. We tried dipping and it seems ideal but the cheong fun tends to stick after awhile hence we pour the sauce over it. It turned out... too salty 💀 but still delicious 》$5.50

For days when I want trusty springy noodles with roast duck so good with its crispy oily skin! Char siew was tender, with a balance of lean and fat for a good bite!
Also love their congee here which is somehow ultra silky and tasty!
With over 15 outlets around the island, this local restaurant chain is the place to head to when the chicken craving strikes. Dishes here are meant to be shared, not eaten alone, making it great for big group situations. Ironically, the most well-received dish at The Soup Restaurant is not a soup, but instead the Samsui Ginger Chicken (from $19.90). The simple dish, which used to be enjoyed by Samsui women once a year during Chinese New Year, features slices of steamed chicken skilfully cut and served alongside a pile of lettuce leaves and a pool of addictive ginger-sesame oil dip. The umami rich sauce is so addictive that customers can purchase a bottle at the counter to take home. At the VivoCity outlet, you get the best of both worlds — Cantonese dishes as well as a selection of hearty dim sum. Order the tasty Earthern Bowl Carrot Cake ($4.50), Crispy Prawn Cheong Fun ($5.90) and the Ha Kao ($5.50) that comes highly recommended by Burppler Mok XC!
Avg Price: $20 per person

The serving size was so generous that we thought we ate an entire duck. The fragrant and rich herbal sauce was amazing (if herbs are your thing). Its meat was also very tender, not gamey, dry or chewy at all. I had this pre-race and I think it must have nourished me well during the race 😂.
It's nice to see old establishments like Palm Beach still around after so many years.
Reunion dinner with the girls @aletheajane @gwendyt 😘
