Chose this instead of the normal steaks as I didn’t want such a large portion size. The meat was moderately tender, honestly can’t expect that much for the price. Some parts were tough but there were fatty parts too and it was alright. 🌟3.5/5

Truffle fries ($3.50 as add on) - The menu says its $1.50 as an add on but I think the price is different for truffle fries (as compared to normal fries? Not sure). not the best but still pretty good. 🌟3.5/5

the prices have been lowered a while ago and now they don’t give the 2 prawn heads anymore! the prawns weren’t as fresh compared to the first time we ate here (which was then they first opened around 1-2 years ago). the salmon aburi bowl has been around for about half a year and it’s my new favorite on the menu lately. (also favepay no longer has a collaboration with kogane so i didn’t manage to use the cash back credits i had accumulated 😭) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

really enjoyed it the first time i went a few months ago. however the green tea ice cream tasted funny and artificially sweet 🤭 don’t think i’ll be getting this flavour the next time, think i’ll get the strawberry yogurt one instead. #burpplesg #burpple

couldn’t decide what to order and saw on google reviews that a lot of pics were of this eggs benedict so i decided to get one myself too. didn’t look like that huge a portion size but i was so full after having it, it kept me full until dinner. didn’t really like how the steak was done; kinda tough and salty. the bread was well done and buttered. eggs were good too & goey inside. the roasted potatoes had a thin crisp skin - tasted like a healthier version of french fries. have never been a cafe person because i don’t believe the food is worth the price but once in a while it’s ok plus it was for a catch-up with a friend ☺️☺️ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

we actually saw one outside tsukiji market at the start of the trip but never had the chance to try it. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ it was located at B1, was quite full but fortunately the turnover rates in japanese restaurants are pretty fast so we managed to get a seat almost immediately. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
we couldn’t find tempura udon as an option on the menu; turns out you’ve to order a plain udon bowl then add on the tempura items you want, ala carte. we got 1 prawn, 1 lotus, 1 sweet potato and 1 crabstick. would say the most impressive one would be the seaweed coated crabstick, which was a first for me. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
sadly the tempura was rather cold even though warm lights were shining on it in efforts to keep it warm. and it didn’t taste fresh. the price however was really good; so much cheaper than the one i got at @hokkaido_marche at orchard road. if only the tempura items were warm and crispy i think this place would’ve been unbeatable. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

opening hours are until 2am so we came here for supper haha. many locals seem to know of this place too, as there were a steady stream of people coming for supper around 12am haha. prices seemed reasonable so we ordered a simple tonkatsu dish. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

it was crispy and fluffy, but not as good as KYK tonkatsu which we had at kyoto. but then again this was cheaper! it also came with 2 fried oysters, which we would never get in singapore for the same price. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

the speciality items would be the zakuzaku, which is a long crispy pastry with some fillings on the inside. we ordered 2- one with strawberry and the other with cream filling. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
honestly it tasted pretty average, just like any other regular cream puff. we also ordered a soft serve ice cream which tasted average too, couldn’t beat the milkcafe ice cream i had previously though. and because i just had that the day before i had the zakuzaku one, the latter just paled in comparison. ⠀

after eating a hearty bowl of eel (a few posts above), we participated in the mall lucky draw and won a ¥1000 coupon, which we used to buy 3 cream puffs from a nearby bakery. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

it was probably my first time seeing vanilla beans in a cream pie filling - it looked and tasted so impressive! probably one of the best cream pie fillings i’ve ever had. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

sadly we couldn’t come back again as we left nagoya for tokyo. would definitely come back for eel and this cream puff in nagoya station, if there’s a chance in the future :) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
