Pans Of Heaven
Always a fan of local food, this pizza was ordered without any hesitation. Really glad that fresh crab meat was used instead of crab stick! Also, I loved their creative idea of using fried mantou as the pizza base! Best thing was that the crispy fried mantou base was airy, making a possibly dense pizza treat a lighter one:)
Definitely a hit for cheese lovers, probably a little too much cheese if you ain't a die hard fan of cheese. Served on a patented black rice dough stuffed with mozzarella and cream cheese mousse is a bed of diced chicken, mushrooms and potatoes. To intensify the cheesy experience, the pizza is baked with a blanket of double mozzarella cheese and string cheeseee. BBQ sauce is a must for the pizza as it can neutralise some of the possible jelatness from the cheese. However the honey drizzle can be missed if you don't have a sweet tooth.
Not too sure how long these new flavours have been introduced into the market but was enticed to visit after seeing them being featured by Foodking NOC.
In the 14"pan with charcoal crust were What The Duck (Smoked duck, turkey bacon, dried cranberries, cream cream cubes and apricot sauce), Pump'd Up cheese (Philadelphia cream cream, Italian mascarpone cream cheese, smoky nacho cheese, mozzarella cheese, parmesan cheese and carbonara sauce) and Trufflin' Truffle Mushroom (Roasted fresh buttons, oyster mushrooms, cherry tomatoes and mozzarella creams on carbonara bed and drizzled with truffle mayo).
The toppings on all three flavours were very generous with an intense cheesy experience for cheese lovers. What was assumed as a probable black sheep in the trio family (What The Duck) turned out to have the best combi of toppings and hence my favorite for the night. Really enjoyed the well balanced taste of the sweetness from the apricot sauce and dried cranberry with the smokiness from the smoked duck and the saltiness from the cream cheese. Besides the taste profile was very intriguing since the combi was not seen being served elsewhere.
For the other two flavours, they were great on their own. However, when eaten together, the creaminess and saltiness of all the cheese could get a bit too overwhelming for the palate. Also, the rawness from the oyster mushrooms was definitely something I was expecting. However, my sister loved it as she was a fan of the very shroom.
Oh oh I was especially fond of the charcoal crust! Though it was not thin and flaky like others, I liked the fluffiness from its bread-like texture.
Overall, I think the three new flavours were not bad and I would definitely return for What The Duckš
Was expecting a lot from the pizza as the truffle fragrance reached us faster than the sight of it. Surprisingly the truffle taste was not as strong as it smelt to be:( However it was still worth the try:)
