Very tender chicken pieces but a bit oily. Still a nice dish. Overall, a good place for a simple Taiwanese meal.

Not the most beautiful dish but it tastes good and is a good deal. Very simple dish of minced tuna belly with a poached egg and copious anmounts of fresh chopped spring onions. Mix it all together, season it to taste with some soy sauce and Wasabi and this makes for a pretty good meal.

Newton food center has an abundance of good fried oyster Egg stalls and this is one of them. This stall also sells Satay so that's the easy way to distinguish it. Hup kee is the most famous and unique with its extremely crispy flour but I find this variation to be as good, just different. This stall uses ample fish sauce and very large fresh oysters from Korea which give the dish a great umami flavour. Good for people who like the oysters themself in this dish. Definitely worth trying!

A very nice cake with well executed layers of dark chocolate mousse around a passionfruiy flavoured center. The slightly tart passion fruits balances the rich, sweet chocolate. I also feel the price of $9 nett, no service or gst is very reasonable compared to most places in central Singapore. Recommended.

A very solid bahn mi. Stuffed with a generous ammount of carrot and cucumber pickles and fresh cilantro, the juicy pork belly shines through but isn't greasy. The pork liver pate and sweet-sour sauce complete a very good rendition. Good value at 7.50, great value for breakfast at 6.90 with a free drink!

This is a nice and simple nasi Lemak done pretty well. The rice is nicely fragrant and the sambal is spicy and sweet with a nice balance. The great homemade ikan bilis and peanuts is what differentiates this. With an average fried chicken wing and fried egg, this is solid value for $3 in such a downtown location.

Very good dish. Flavorful braised Pork Belly that isn't too fatty is served on top of very nice short grain rice. The rice was fluffy and went perfectly with the pork. A nice braised egg and some great homemade cucumber pickles completes this enjoyable dish. A very nice rendition of a Taiwanese classic.

You get a nice mix of medium rare lean beef slices, tendon, meat balls, brisket and tripe together with chopped herbs and pho noodles. The meat was all nicely cooked and the meatball in particular was very flavorful. The broth was not as flavorful with beefy goodness as I would have liked but still lightly fragrant and enjoyable.

This is honestly a steal even at the ala carte price and the breakfast and lunch set prices are even better value. With Singapore's rising food costs, this is a superb deal! Highly recommended.
This superb rack of welsh lamb is cooked to a perfect medium rare and the flavour of the meat shines. The fat cap is nicely rendered and the meat is very succulent. Overall, lamb that could proudly be served at a Michelin ā restaurant. The roasted garlic, endive and potato gratin on the side are mediocre but we would still strongly recommend meat lovers to try this dish.

Served at both Bistro Du Vin outlets for lunch and dinner, this is a very solidly executed classical foie gras dishes. Great sear and crust, melty center and a nice sweet-sour apple compote. The portion is also quite generous. Highly recommended š

Very nice flavorful bun. Lobster salad itself has good flavour but quantity of lobster was a bit little for me. However, still a solid lobster Roll and the side salad and fries are outstanding.
$9 per slice.
Very good value in my opinion. Juicy, crispy skin and great flavour from the stuffed fennel. It comes with a simple mustard sauce which helps cut the grease. Very highly recommended.
