[Seafood Soup-$6]
Been a regular at this store for many years. Many who live in the North will know that there aren’t many good food around the area. Yan Ji Seafood Soup is one of the few good stores in the North.
For $6, the Seafood Soup comes with prawns, clam, squid, fish and handmade meatballs. Add on an additional $0.50 for a bowl of white rice.
Came across this ramen shop at Yishun Park Hawker Centre. Ajisai Japanese Ramen sells affordable ramen and don (Japanese Rice Bowl) in a hawker centre setting. I had the Pork Chashu Ramen (Shoyu). 🍜
At a price of $3.50, it came with a good portion of ramen which was cooked al-dente, a small piece of pork chashu and half an egg. The pork chashu was a little on the tough side but had a good amount of fats in it and was slightly thicker than the ones you get at regular ramen shops. The egg (Ajitsuke Tamago) was well marinated and was cooked just right. The shoyu based soup was flavorful.
This dish has a slightly smaller portion compared to most ramen, however, it is worth the low price that you're paying. If you're a heavy eater, you can also pay more to add more ingredients or noodles. Do visit this store if you happen to be around Yishun or if you're craving for ramen :)
