A new venture by Kek Seafood Alexandra👍🏻 We ordered the popular chilli crab burger ($15.50) and coffee ribs burger ($9.90). All burger sets come with a side of crispy chunky fries, slaw within the burgers and a big cup of water chestnut drink. Loved the fries and enjoyed the drink. The chilli crab burger had a fried soft shell crab in it with the popular chilli crab sauce to drizzle at the side. The sauce was rich, eggy and had a kick to it.
As for the coffee ribs burger, there was a huge piece of the well-known Kek’s pork delight in between the slaw and buns. The coffee aroma was so strong and watermouthing, with the pork rib being so tender and juicy. Hence, the coffee pork ribs burger was the burger of the night for us. Oh lastly not forgetting to mention how buttery the buns were!
Really could see the amount of effort put into this venture as the team ensures that the standard of their popular dishes remains consistent in these new spin offs.
Definitely had to go for the pork patties at a place that specialises in it:)
Really enjoyed my super soft double pork patties made moist by the house made guacamole. With it was a generous serving of nachos with cheese sprinkled on it. However my friends mentioned that the patties in their burgers (Bacon & Cheese and Double P’s) were dry and hence, hard to finish them:( Maybe the guacamole and fresh salsa on my patties set the worlds apart?😊
Beautifully buttered buns sandwiching truffled mushrooms and onions atop a medium rare beef patty. The beef patty was moist and lightly seasoned. Loved how the provolone cheese binded everything together with the addition of a cheesy pull effect! Simply one of the best shrooms burgers I have ever had!
Grilled chicken breast topped with avocado cream, orange and mustard sauce. Loved the kick from the cross section of red onion! However the gorgeously seared chicken breast was a tad too dry and the side of Krautknolle (German white cabbage salad) tasted like a more sour version of our usual coleslaw. Nevertheless the interior design of the restaurant made up for the misses as it was like a dream to be able to eat in a forest with lush greenery:)
Asked a super friendly service crew member for a fun and interesting burger and was recommended this burger which was quoted as the 'most shiok burger on their menu'.
Between 2 soft charcoal buns were 2 pieces of crispy chicken karage topped with sunny side up, melty cheese, daikon pickles and wafu slaw. Somehow, the combination of B sauce, sriracha honey and truffle mayo with the burger reminded me very much of our McSpicy😂
It was actually quite shiok but I would definitely prefer them to be less 'generous' on the sauces as the soft buns were all soaked and it became really tricky to not make a mess towards the end.
Will consider returning for another affordable gourmet burger experience😊
This was the first item on the menu that caught my attention because nan ru is a pretty rare find and I am quite a big fan of it! Just the sight of the thick nanru pork belly sandwiched between nicely done buns and coleslaw on a bed of thick chunky fries could almost whet the appetite of anyone. True enough, the buns were well buttered and the fries were seasoned just right for me. However, the porky star was a little too chewy and its nan ru flavor was almost non-existent for my liking:( Also, the dressing of the coleslaw was so watery that it kept dripping onto my fries, making them too soggy for optimal enjoyment:( Nevertheless I thought there are really efforts in finding new flavours, just that there is some room for improvement:)
Was really excited to try a burger with a local twist and this XOXO burger was quite a masterpiece. Other than the tender and juicy turkey patty, there was this really interesting patty made of bacon, shrimp and scallop which was goooood. Since this burger has ingredients more on the heavy side of the palate, the lighter kaffier lime mayonnaise managed to balance the overall taste really well. However I didn't enjoy the buns cos I thought they were a bit too thick and dry. If only they have the buns from Burger Buddies, the combination would simply make it as one of the best burgers around!
The patty tasted exactly like chicken thigh though it was made entirely of mushrooms. The cashew cheese sauce was awesome since it contained my favorite ingredient: natto. Pairing it with a fruit vinegar is definitely a good idea as it certainly helps to whet the appetite before diving into the burger 😋 #BurppleMajulahMakan
Finally visited the place as a great mushroom lover. Though the beef patty was well seasoned, the amount of creamy mushrooms given was a huge letdown. I guess to get the amount of mushroom goodness in those instaworthy pictures, you really have to top up another $2:( Well I am not sure if this is a good thing but the buns are so freaking good. So buttery and crispy. Its literally the most beautiful burger buns I have ever eaten 😢
