This pizza turned out to my favourite, unexpectedly. Itâs topped with a sweet bulgolgi pulled pork shoulder, flor di latte cheese, kimchi, pineapple, and fig chutney. Iâm a big fan of sweet-savoury food (yes, including pineapple on pizza), so this worked very well for me! The pulled pork wasnât dry (always a problem) and I loved the honey-like glaze on it (that I was looking for in the pepperoni). It sounds like a funky combo, so itâs interesting how it gels together so well. Another successful fusion pizza!
The spiced coconut chicken is basically the Thai dish tom kha ga on pizza. I thought it would be a bit too funky for my liking, but it was actually quite enjoyable. Thereâs a fragrant coconut taste and a contrasting sharpness from the pickled onions. A rare successful fusion pizza!
Truffle oil is always tricky to work with since too much can taste overwhelming, which was what happened here. I do think that truffle oil can enhance and complement the taste of mushrooms, but it was very strong tasting here and I didnât really enjoy this combination that much.
Chooby does a Neapolitan style pizza with a puffy, bready crust. I was intrigued about their creative flavours and ended up liking their funky flavours more than the standard ones. Their crust is chewy and beautifully blushed, and has a sour tinge from their fermentation process. I wish it could have been a bit less dense though.

I had high hopes for this pepperoni pizza, but it fell short of my expectations. I liked the crispy pepperoni cups, but wish the overall flavours had been bolder. It promised honey and chilli, but there wasnât much heat in ours and I couldnât really taste the honey either, which I thought would have really amped up the flavours.
Their tiramisu dusted with Milo powder was not bad! The Milo makes it a bit sweeter than typical tiramisu, but I still liked it because it wasnât that dry and the cream was not that thick and cloying. Good end to our meal!
Thanks burpple for the eat up!
I liked this 4 cheese pizza the best. Itâs topped with mozzarella, blue cheese, parmesan and ricotta, and drizzled with honey. Despite it being full of cheese, it doesnât taste that heavy and the blue cheese taste isnât prominent. The honey is also sparingly used, so people who prefer savoury food would like it. I would prefer it sweeter to complement the cheeses though.
Thanks burpple for the eat up!
For something that professed to be for meat lovers, I was admittedly expecting something a bit more substantial. But this tasted fine. It has pepperoni (that I wish was crispy) and chunks of garlic herbed sauce meat. Overall, not really the most exciting pizza.
Thanks burpple for the eat up!
Since I like mushrooms a lot, this truffle mushroom pizza with 3 types of mushrooms was enjoyable. The truffle oil wasnât very overwhelming and I liked the puffy crust. But this pizza was pretty standard overall, and I do find their pizzas rather pricy for the size without burpple beyond.
Thanks burpple for the eat up!
Was rather apprehensive about ordering their pasta at first, but it turned out to be not bad! Their vongole was very tasty because they used a lot of garlic and the oil emulsion clung to the spaghetti well. The clams also werenât sandy. One of the better vongole that Iâve tried actually!
Their signature pizza, the white-based Zazz pizza, consisted of mozzarella, Australian ribeye, mixed mushrooms, parmesan, truffle cream, arugula, and cherry tomatoes. It was quite unique! Tasted like a truffle mushroom pizza but with cherry tomatoes and arugula to balance it out, along with chunks of Australian ribeye. Although I didnât mind the meat on it, I felt like the pizza could have done without it.
Went back to Zazz pizza and it didnât disappoint! The red-based Parma Burrata pizza has generous amounts of parma ham, topped with arugula and parmesan shavings and finished with a creamy burrata in the middle. Their pizzas here are particularly delicious because of how fluffy and bready the crust is, achieved by fermenting the dough for a few days. Despite itâs breadiness, itâs still chewy and quite light, making it the perfect vessel for the pizza toppings. The pizza was a bit too saucy last time I went, resulting in the middle of the pizza becoming soggy, but it was perfect this time.
Overall a great experience again! Booked through @hungrygowhere so I managed to get a seat inside (recommended since they have limited seating). What they lack in decor they make up for in the quality of their food. Canât emphasise how much I like their pizza dough!
This mushroom risotto with assorted wild mushrooms and porchini inside was incredibly tasty. Itâs very rich tasting and the cheese in the risotto complements the earthiness of the mushrooms well. Thereâs also a lavosh wedged into the risotto so you can mop it up with that! This risotto is on the thicker side, but I loved how umami it was. Totally wiped up this dish.
