Unique Cafes
Not cheap...some cool items in the limited menu, e.g. cauliflower fritters
A little bit out of the way, smaller than expected, service wasn't great, good but limited menu and expensive.
Coffee was outstanding.
Cannot make reservations on Sundays.
Scruffy Murphy is the latest f&b venture of Muddy Murphy Holdings and they are taking their successful model into the neighborhood!
What's not to love?
-Prices are nett
-Local fare like curry chicken noodle (around $9), fish head curry, nasi lemak await, in addition to famous English pub grub
-Weekends are open from 830am so it's a place for breakfast and brunch, with family or other half, not just drinks at night w friends
-most importantly it screens sports including EPL (it is currently not affiliated to any football club unlike it's sister Penny Black that is home of Newcastle)
Had brunch here w a pint of French draft beer ($10).. definitely will be back!
CBD pricing for casual eats, but no complaints for $6/7...
Don't think I will be craving it anytime soon though, looks better than it tastes.
Did you know that Chambers at Robertson Walk is one of the oldest pubs in Singapore? ~22 years to be exact!
Curiously, they have some Indian food on their menu besides the usual pub grub and Western main course.
Kebabs are very well presented and go well with your drinks!
Good for dates or special outings because it has a view of the sea and pretty ambience :)
Pasta costs ~ $30 after ++
There were about 5 or 6 of the juicy clams
$20 nett Guinness liquid buffet
A bit of everything fried :)
Professor Brawn Bistro serves up affordable Western fare and has a homely casual ambience suitable for friends, dates, and family too.
Professor Brawn Bistro offers employment opportunities to people who are differently-abled and it is really meaningful to dine here!
Who would have thought of a craft beer ice cream flavour? :D and that I like craft beer ice cream when I don't like craft beer...haha
Look for Janet from Sarnies. Amazing coffee!
At Mahota Commune, there are 2 eateries - a farm to table restaurant that's sells food at a premium pricing because its supposedly healthy food, and a cafe that can't decide what it wants to be. Mahota Commune is a dead town in itself, and with poor service and management, its easy to see why.
BUT there is 1 hidden gem, a newly popped up steamed dishes kitchen carved out in the cafe. Steamed rice sets are around $6+, which is ok since the portion and taste is great!
