Not only was the bowl packed with flavor, but it was also packed with tons of ingredients! I bought the $4 bowl and shared it with my boyfriend and it was enough to fill our tummies ๐คค The price is based on the size of the bowl and not the ingredients chosen so I would recommend getting the one with all the ingredients because itโs more worth! The porridge was already salty and flavorful enough, so I would recommend not adding extra soya sauce on your own. The porridge wasnโt peppery, so you can add pepper if you want, though I really liked the โnaturalโ taste of the porridge on its own.

They really do serve big prawns! The prawns were well cooked, however, do be careful while youโre peeling the prawn head as it might get a little messy! The noodles were chewy and there was a generous portion of clams given too! ๐คค I think the best part of this dish was the flavor-packed broth which was super shiok but if you prefer a lighter broth, this is not for you! Do take as much broth as you can with your noodles as itโs pretty greasy to drink on its own!

Located in a secluded corner in Lavender, this roast meat store has gained much popularity for their char siew and roast pork! ๐ It also happens to be in the #burpplesghot100 list. I vaguely remember coming here once before but they disappointed back then as the roast pork skin was hard rather than crispy the previous time I was here, but I decided to give it one more shot and Iโm glad I did!
.
First off, the char siew is really โmelt-in-your-mouthโ quality ๐คค The sauce matched well with the roast pork and char siew as it wasnโt too flavorful or salty. The highlight of the whole dish to me, however, was the roast pork! They finally nailed it this time I came and the skin was CRACKLING in my mouth and the meat was tender and moist ๐ The dish was already mouth-watering by itself but do add some chilli for some extra kick. Super impressed this time round and canโt wait to go back for more soon!!

For a โshiokโ dinner or supper, Scissors Cut Curry is the place to go! With long queues all through the night, sharing a table with others is a common sight here. The queue moves along super quickly and people usually eat as quickly too! ๐
.
Absolutely love the pork cutlet and curry here! The pork wasnโt dry and the fact that the plate was FLOODED with delicious curry just warmed my heart (as much as it warmed my mouth!) Thereโs a slight hint of spiciness (very subtle) in the curry and they have a range of other delicious ingredients as well! I recommend the pork belly as well ๐๐ป

Back at A Noodle Story to satisfy my craving โบ๏ธ I would really like to thank them for their high standard, the consistency of their food and for being so friendly and starting a small chat with me! Itโs amazing how this bowl of ramen still tastes as flavorful and perfect even after months of not coming to Amoy ๐
The medium bowl is like the small bowl ($7) but with much more ingredients. More steamed wantons, a full egg, a fried wanton but with the same amount of noodles as the small bowl. Every single ingredient on the bowl was cooked to perfection! The melt-in-your-mouth char siew, the silky wanton, the springy noodles, the perfectly crisp prawn; their food is legendary and by far, one of the most impressive and memorable Hawker Food in Singapore. ๐ธ๐ฌ

Crazily in love the claypot laksa from Zhen Shan Mei! โบ๏ธ One of the most raved-about hawker food and one of the few hawker stores at the top of my wishlist, I can see why this claypot laksa has gained so much popularity!
The broth was spicy and thick while the noodles were silky and smooth; simply perfect! The chicken was a little tough but when eaten together with everything else, you wouldn't even notice. Highly recommended ๐๐ป

Ever wondered how breakfast food will be in a burger? Well, this definitely fulfils everything. Tender bacon, a half-runny egg with a piece of crispy hashbrown topped with a soft bun; who could have any complaints about this mouthwatering combination?
The store is easy to spot as it's all green and stands out from the other stores! I'm a huge fan of breakfast food so this is definitely going to be a store that I'll be going to often (and get fat along the way as well HAHA) โบ๏ธ

Waited 30mins in line just to get this and it's definitely worth the wait!
The char siew was tender and the potato-wrapped prawn was super crispy (and reminded me of potato rosti!). The wantons were well-cooked and the noodles were springy. Overall, it was a rather satisfying meal.
However, one of the reasons why I would definitely go back to eat again is because of the humble and down-to-earth owners and cooks of A Noodle Story. Determined to serve quality food, I saw pieces of cooked prawns being thrown into the dustbin if they were not up to satisfaction. Also, they were super detailed with the presentation and took the time and patience to ensure every bowl looked its best even though it was during the ever-so hectic lunch hour. I have so much respect for the people at A Noodle Story and appreciate the effort they put into every single bowl. Kudos to them โบ๏ธ

Absolutely loved the springiness of the noodles which many wanton mee stores tend to lack! The best part of this dish is definitely the wanton. Without the wanton, the dish was just an above average wanton mee but with it, it elevates the dish to a whole new level. The skin of the wanton was thin and the meat inside was soft and moist. When eaten together with the noodles, it's simply indescribable.
However, I do agree that this place is rather over-rated but definitely one of the better wanton mees I've eaten โบ๏ธ

๐ซ Warning: Killer Queue and Wait time ๐ซ
The Burning Oak has been a wishlist of mine for a while now, and I finally had the chance to go down to try it! The queue to order was around 30 mins long and thereafter, I still had to wait another 30 mins for my food to be served. You know what they say though, "no pain, no gain".
I loved the color of the beef and it was definitely cooked well. Everything else including the rice was just rather average. Dang, but the pork cheek was really the star of the dish. One bite into it and I was already in awe. It was so soft and melted in my mouth; simply heavenly. Overall, it was a good dish but if you don't like queueing or waiting, this definitely isn't the store for you. ๐
They're currently having their latest WAGYU PROMOTION and all bentos come with rice, onsen egg, Japanese pickles and miso soup!
$5.60
Set comes with 2 soft boiled eggs, crispy toast and a drink
A highly raved place for its kaya toasts, I was really excited to try it! It's more costly than other places, but sadly, it tasted the same. The toast was definitely crispy, but it was crazily thin and falling apart throughout my entire meal. The eggs looked beautiful though, but it tasted like normal soft-boiled eggs. Their kaya is unsweet, which I loved but I could barely taste any kaya at all, due to the ungenerous portion given. I loved the Ice Milo, however, as it was milky and chocolatey at the same time.
Pricey and just average, this place is way too raved but definitely worth a shot!
$6.90
This is one of the better hawker ramens out there. The soup was more on the watery side and the flavor wasn't too overpowering. The ramen was a "legit" ramen and wasn't those maggie mee ramen you can find anywhere else! The best part of the dish, however, was the pork belly. Charred and grilled to perfection, it was juicy and tender and paired very well with the whole dish.
This wasn't mind-blowing or anything, but definitely worth it's price and if I'm craving a cheap Japanese meal when I'm in the vicinity, this is the place I would turn to. ๐
