Café For A Date⛱
The additional mentaiko topping makes the whole dish super creamy but definitely not jelat! To out surprise, crab meat was found within the dish too!
Located on the 2nd floor of Cluny Court, the cafe itself was quite an open space concept. Savoury sides such as sausage, bacon stripes and tomatos that comes along with 3 pancakes with an fried egg on top. I would say the buttermilk pancake was really good because it’s fluffy and nice flavour of the butter and dairy.
Asked for the hollandaise sauce to be separate on the side and it comes with quinoa pancake instead of usual muffins or artisan bread slice. Poached egg was quite runny and it pairs well with the quinoa pancake too!
Wow! This bowl of truffle oil tossed fries has instantly climb up to my top list. Truffle oil here was so intense and so much flavour! Not too sure on the reason but shoestring fries is the best fries combination for truffle oil.
The vegan patty is juicy and has pepper crust but the thick slab was a tad tough to my liking. The fries on the side was quite plain too. There are better impossible burger elsewhere.
However, do catch their 1 for 1 mains August promotion this month.
Slices of smoked salmon laid nicely on top of the cut crossiant. Quite a pleasant surprise that it comes with a portion of scrambled egg. Fala sprouts to decorate the dish with some fiber and complete a wholesome meal.
Shoestring fries tossed with truffle oils and topped with shaved pramasan cheese. Quite an average bowl of fried with mild truffle fragance.
Basically you will just have to pick 2 flavours from their menu. We had Wagyu Beef & Mushroom and Al Funghi. Nice seasoning of the wagyu beef, sweet and yet savoury at the same time. Tho the mushroom did overkill a little. Mushroom overloaded on this super duper thin crust pizza.
Full bowl of sweet potato fries that are lightly seasoned. Subtle sweet taste from the potato so not much seasoning required.
Seldom would we see linguine used as the noodle base for aglio olio but this was the case here at Thus Coffee. The spices definitely gave some kicks to the whole dish. Warning sign is raise to those who can’t really eat spicy food. Generous number of prawns but the overall portion was a tad too small though.
Huge chicken thigh swimming in a bowl of creamy soup with chunks of potatoes. Comes with a side of multigrain toast. Not too sure why is there 2 slices of toast instead of 1 as shown in photos and in burpple review, probably is to replace the missing carrots chunks. Chicken is well-cooked, very tender and the meat literally fall off the bone.
Bee hoon soak in crab broth with REAL crab meat and salted egg. The soup was really flavourful, and with generous amount of crab meat.
