Look around the restaurant and notice how this dish is probably on every table. Never fails to disappoint with the fried chicken and perfectly balanced sauce that they pour over it with garlic chili and spring onions!
My favourite dish at this place! For under $15, the fish is perfectly cooked and sits on a base of broccoli drowned in a superior soy sauce with chili. Perfect for any time of the day!
4 beef patties, cheese, bacon and other stuff that just don't matter because there are FOUR thick Beef patties!! I didn't conquer this beast, but my friend who is a gym buff did in under ten minutes. Pretty good value for what it is, but he said that is probably the limit.
One thing that I'll never fail to eat when I come to Sydney... these Vietnamese bread rolls are my favourite! Fresh vegetables with the cold cuts of meat, pate and mayonese all stuffed into a freshly baked mini baguette. It is to die for!
There has been significant improvements in this burger since the last time I ate it. An improved sesame bun and a thicker cut bacon made all the difference, and I firmly believe this is one of the best burgers sydney has to offer. Sauce is slightly overpowering but still a winner!
One of my favorite burger joints in Sydney that offers this burger that is slightly packed with more stuff over the standard Bronx burger like bacon & caramelized onions. It feels like they reduced the pattie size, which is disappointing cause it lacked in that meaty bite.
Single beef patty, cheddar cheese, caramelized onions, lettuce and special bare sauce... BLISS!
It's a shame that I'm only discovering about this place ten minutes drive from my home that was for 7 years. All those times where I would be craving a good burger and having to drive into the city would have never happened had I known of this gem. "The Bare" ($12) features a single patty, carmelised onions and the usual suspects along with a special sauce. Their chips are amazing too at $4 for a small cup.
Oh, and if you dare... order the "Death by burger" which features TEN patties in the burger for $45. Please tag me if you do...
If there's anything I would miss when I'm away from Sydney, it would be a good burger. BL Burgers would be one of my go-tos and with weekly specials to keep their fans happy, I'm not complaining. Try their B L Beef Burger ($15) which would give you the closest experience to that classic burger you would get in the states, or the Blame Canada ($16) if you're feeling adventurous.
Fancy some good coffee and aussie brunch along the world's famous Bondi Beach? Then Porch & Parlour offers you a good option with a cool twist on many classic dishes like seafood pie without a crust, breakfast in a hash brown, and a green pea pancake. Expect to pay about $25 per person with a coffee!
Grilled beef patty, double cheese, bacon, onion jam, tomato sauce, pickles, American mustard, aioli & iceberg lettuce... All the ingredients needed to recreate "The Bronx", but you're going to fall so short of the mark if you try it yourself and you'll be cheating yourself from one of the best burgers I've had for $13.
The burger just uses quality and simple ingredients to shine through, without all that unnecessary "extras" that complicate it. You just gotta come here and try it for yourself to understand the joy I'm feeling right now as I'm typing this out.
In a land where you can easily get lost in unhealthy food like pies, burgers and too much red meat... it's important to balance it up with some healthy eating and the salads from 22 Grams can do just that and make it super tasty too.
The Quinoa Salad ($16) features quinoa (duh!), baby spinach, crumbed feta, baked beetroots, carrots and pine nuts. Ready to satisfy most salad lovers who happen to be around the area!
