I've been having the strangest craving for kombucha in recent weeks. So when I chanced upon Teapulse's Instagram post that they now do island-wide deliveries, I immediately jumped on it. Each day, they deliver to a different region based on location - makes a lot of sense for their logistics.

They have various options available:
1. "Pure" probiotics lemonade concentrates (250ml for $16)
2. "Pure" undiluted kombucha (800 for $25, or 250ml for $5.20)
3. "Concoctions" of ready-to-drink kombucha/probiotics drinks (250ml for $5.60)

#1 & #2 come in glass jars/bottles (respectively); these should be mixed in the appropriate ratios before drinking. Fret not, it's easy to do & your order comes with a detailed instructions sheet to follow. For those who are lazy to mix up a storm, you can opt for #3 - these, however, come in plastic bottles which I'm not a fan of.

I DM-ed them on Instagram to get their order sheet, which they promptly sent over & informed me of what flavours (for #2) were available for the week. I filled it up to make up the minimum $30 for free delivery & sent it back to them on WhatsApp. Paid up by PayNow & they advised me on delivery timing.

Happily received my stash on time, the day of:
#1 - Probiotics Brown Lemonade Concentrate
#2 - Pure Kombucha (Osmanthus, Green Tea)
#3 - Lemongrass Kombucha with Aloe Vera

Immediately drank #3 & shared it with my mum - her first time. She liked it & didn't find it too acidic/vinegary! As for the rest, I am slowly mixing them & going through my stash.

Pleased with this experience & will order from them again. Teapulse has actually been on my Burpple wishlist for a while, but I hadn't had time to stop by their store at Phillip Street.

When the time comes & stores are allowed to re-open, I'd like to swing by to show my support. You can also get 1-for-1 drinks here on Burpple Beyond, which gives me even more reason to visit... Hehehe.

The Hotpot Set for 1 with Handmade Noodles ($12.90 nett) was either a new addition to Greendot's menu, or perhaps something that I've glossed over/never noticed before. Wanting to try something different, I opted for this as opposed to my usual favourite.

Ordered at the cashier - chose the herbal soup base - & then sat down. Was pretty confused when my meal was served to me & it was a bowl of soup teeming full of ingredients, & another bowl with the handmade noodles inside... Where's the hotpot?

I was expecting something at least like the Minipot Noodles (小璗青) that you get at hawker centres.. With a little candle/fire below the pot. But this wasn't the case. Were my expectations misplaced or unfounded?

I enjoyed my meal while it lasted, especially with the plethora of ingredients in my soup. My favourites are the shiitake mushrooms, white enoki mushrooms, tau pok, & konnyaku crab ball.

However, my general preference is to eat noodles in soup, as opposed to dry noodles with soup on the side. The noodles were served separately for good reason; they were tossed in a soy sauce (too salty for my liking) so I couldn't dunk them in my soup for fear of making everything too salty.

With all that said & done, I'll probably revert to my usual favourite - the Angelica Herbal Noodle with Cordyceps ($7.90 nett). The noodles are served in the soup, & it's cheaper too.

Not a bad meal, just a confusing one & not to my preferences!

My dinner tonight from SaladStop! doesn't look great, but it satisfied me after a gruelling workout. "Grain Bowls" here are $9.90 nett; they come with a default leafy base of lettuce (anything else e.g. Spinach/Kale costs extra), & your choice of grain - brown rice or quinoa (surprisingly, the latter doesn't cost extra).

You get 7 toppings; I chose sliced lotus root, broccoli, long beans, chickpeas, pickled cucumber, grated hard boiled egg, edamame. You can add premium toppings for extra, but na bro.

Not gonna lie, I couldn't eat this without my sauce of choice - Thai Turmeric. I usually eat my salads sauceless, but this was actually really bland πŸ˜‚ The sourness & spicy kick from the sauce really turned this salad around to be more palatable.

In all, yum yum in my tum tum. & delighted to get 5% cashback here thanks to Shopback GO, too!

Initially, I wasn't sure if I should be eating this much post-workout. But by the end of my meal I was like, Workplace Espresso Bar y'all did goooood.

Basic salads here cost $9.90 nett, includes 1 grain (but you can chose 2 types) + 2 cold proteins + 4 toppings + 1 sauce.

I opted for soba & couscous (you can mix 2 types for variety or just choose 1 type), chicken & diced prawns, grilled sweet potato, edamame beans, hard boiled egg, mushrooms, & lime cashew sauce on the side. Portions are big here; I was definitely full at the end of my meal.

I was particularly impressed by the chicken, as it wasn't dry or tasteless. It was surprisingly moist & tasted slightly tangy too. Premium ingredients cost more - the chicken isn't premium, but the diced prawns are.

Despite it being the end of the night (by the time I left, one of the staff was mopping the floor already), they still had a decent variety of ingredients, though some ran out (e.g. pulled beef).

Happy that I discovered Workspace Espresso Bar out of sheer coincidence; impressed with the quality, quantity & price point. Will definitely come back here to dine healthy again.

Even happier that I got to boost my cashback via Shopback GO to 20%, as it was my first visit & it coincides with this promotional period! After my first visit, it goes back to 3% cashback but that's still a good deal.

My cashback was tracked in a matter of minutes after I paid, though I understand with some cards & some merchants it may take a while longer.

Lean Bento's last day of operations at Holland Drive is 12th June 2019, so visit them while you can. I did today, & had the Honey Chicken Bento ($12.80 nett, a la carte).

I *would* say I'm going to miss them, but after the 12th they'll be focusing on island-wide deliveries, so they'll still be around 😁

They're also launching a new menu that I'm quite excited about. I don't actually order food delivery - but will make an exception for them.

Can't wait! All the best in your new phase of island-wide expansion, #leanbento ☺

Thanks to a friend's instagram post, I was inspired to try Grain's food & delivery service today. First-time users get $5 off; you can too, just use my code RF45088 when signing up. I get $5 too - you're helping a fellow foodie out!

I ordered the Dragon Well Basil Rice ($8.95), which essentially is ζ“‚θŒΆι₯ aka Thunder Tea Rice. I loved the nutty mix of brown & black rice! The down side is that this dish is pretty oily, but then again I've never had a non-oily bowl of Thunder Tea Rice. I also wish the egg yolk weren't so overcooked, but other than this, I enjoyed this dish. The ingredients are entirely vegetarian, which some might find boring.. But Grain has other options too, so check out their website for more details.

There was an unavoidable $2 delivery charge to my location, & a $3 surcharge for orders under $20. Added together, this is what my $5 discount offsets. However, if you work in the CBD, you can choose to pick up at certain locations, hence avoiding the $2 delivery charge. That's pretty neat... & for returning customers, if you pool together a few orders, the $3 surcharge eventually goes away.

Delivery was on time (ok, 4 minutes early) & the delivery guy was polite, also followed my instructions to call me when he arrives. No complaints there.

Last but certainly not least, I liked how you can opt to reject cutlery (I usually do), & I hope they continue to make this option available.

Now, back to work with a full belly..

An enjoyable bowl of Salmon Soba Noodles ($18+). Loved the super moist salmon, though the skin wasn't crispy. I don't give two hoots about fish skin, but I don't think it was meant to be crispy in the first place & I'm just putting it put there.

The accompanying house-made yogurt was not necessary as I was quite happy without it. (For the record, it was fine.) The juicy shimeiji mushrooms & crispy fried egg (oozy yolk yay) were great together with the soba noodles & salmon.

In all, would've been a great experience if not for the sub-par service. Under no circumstances should you ever clear the glass(es) of your customer(s) without asking - especially if they're midway eating, or if their glass of water isn't even empty. That was a clear sign that our servers (happened more than once) wanted us to get out, probably because there was a long line of people waiting to get in.

Needless to say, we left with quite a bad taste in our mouths. Which is a pity because we actually enjoyed the food.

I always underestimate how full I end up after eating Grain Bowls.. This was no exception. Although the selection wasn't very extensive (there were some things that were unavailable), I managed to pick out some stuff to make a good bowl πŸ˜‰

Prices are pretty decent for healthy eating:
Veg Lite ($11) - 1 Base, 0 Meat, 3 Veg, 2 Toppings
Super Balanced ($13) - 1 Base, 1 Meat, 2 Veg, 2 Toppings
Carb Load ($15) - 2 Base, 1 Meat, 2 Veg, 2 Toppings
Protein Rich β€Ž($19) - 1 Base, 2 Meat, 2 Veg, 2 Toppings

If these are too much for you, you can order their Petit Meals:
$5 for Base + 2 Veg
$7 for Base + 1 Veg + 1 Meat
(Each meal uses 1/2 servings & comes with 1 Topping.)

Ordered 2 Super Balanced bowls:
Sweet Potato, Beef, Mushrooms, Wild Rocket, Black Olives, Chickpeas;

Multi Grain Rice, Salmon, Pumpkin, Mushrooms, Corn Kernels, Dried Shallots.

Obviously I'm only gonna talk about the ingredients that are outstanding either in a good or bad way. Do you really expect me to review the Dried Shallots & Corn? πŸ˜‚ Fortunately, nothing was outstandingly bad!

Multi Grain Rice is THE BOMB. I love the bits of barley inside the brown rice. I was skeptical at first about the texture but it wasn't soggy nor hard - it was perfect. & crazy filling, too.

Sweet Potato was also perfectly cooked, & sweet enough to make me happy 😊

The meat were also great - the Beef was tender & flavourful without being salty. The Salmon moist on the inside & fork tender. Loved them both 😍

You can get your meals to go or dine in - I do like the space they have (air-conditioning is rather cold) so I'd like to dine here again.

The Oxtail soup was raved about by the friendly waitresses (who also patiently answered our questions), but even though we marked it on our order sheet, they overlooked it. Ended up having to re-order, which they warned us we'd have to wait 20+ minutes for us to defrost a new bag of soup. It was tasty, but very small in quantity - it filled up only half the paper cup it was served in. For $5, that's very expensive.... Doubt I'd order it again. & I also forgot to take a photo of it. Hahaha.

Ordered a Protein Muffin ($2.95 with any Lean Bento 🍱) & chose the Dark Cocoa flavour. Moist on the inside, yet not too sweet.

What baffles me is that it doesn't taste like a "Healthy Muffin". I really don't know how they do it, but keep doing what you do because it works, Lean Bento.

I love DIY-ing my meals. This is one of my favourite places to eat clean at because the food here tastes great & I honestly don't even realize I'm eating healthy food.

At $11.95 nett for a standard DIY bento, the ingredients are so plentiful that I feel so stuffed (& happy that I really got my money's worth). This is why I keep coming back.

My choice--
1 Protein: Teriyaki Chicken
1 Complex Carbs: Air Fried Tater Tots
2 Supplements: Honey Wakame 🍯 + Roasted Chickpeas
& a bed of mesclun salad πŸ₯—
