While I donāt know how authentic this is, we really liked what we had both times we were here so thatās all that matters, right?š A pleasant surprise considering they actually serve a variety of cuisines - Thai/ western/ Indonesian/ Indian/ middle eastern so while Iād have usually been deterred by that, not specializing in merely one type of cuisine also means itās good for groups to cater to individual preference..? Ok I canāt vouch for the other dishes but we generally enjoyed the Indian fare and itās relatively affordable. -
If youāre feeling snacky, go for the Garlic Butter Naan- buttery, fragrant but not too garlicky, crisp and not too heavy; prata was also light and crisp at the sides. Although it seemed pricier (starting at $1.40 for plain) portion was huge!
I ordered the mushroom cheese ($2.30) and I liked how the ingredients were quite evenly tossed so you get a bit of mushroom/cheese in each bite. Will probably skip the egg onion prata ($2) tho. Apart from the fact that I generally dislike onions, the diced onions seemed to be thrown in possibly too late so itās not thoroughly cooked/ doesnāt have the fragrance.
Another consistent order so far is the lamb biryani ($11.50). Havenāt had much so while Iām sure you can find better/ cheaper ones out there, I liked this enough. The basmati was fluffy, aromatic while mutton was sufficiently tender and not at all gamey.
The butter chicken ($8) also turned out to be a pleasant surprise - rich, sweet-savoury, very addictive - we ended up pairing it with everything. Not sure if others may find it too sweet but I liked it.
I also liked how the dishes here seem to be hot/ fiery enough but not overly so such that I had to reach for a drink too often. So for people who love spicy food this may be too mild.
Haven't been back for awhile and the Prata shop has changed hands, and menu has expanded to include thai food, glad the prata is still pretty good to satisfy late night cravings. Business is good enough for the pratas to be freshly made, at least while we were there. Coin prata was so buttery and crisp, makes for a great sinful supper. I'm used to having coin pratas that are sweet but this wasn't, so a dash of sugar helps. ($3 by itself, $6 with a side of mutton/ chicken curry).
Been craving for Indian food recently but haven't found the time to head out for a good one, so thank goodness for fuss-free @deliveroo_sg! Nothing beats having a good meal in the comfort of my home, in time for my binge-watching. Was pretty impressed with the delivery - these came piping hot, much earlier than the stipulated time of 25 mins! Plus food was so darn good.
The Tandoori Platter was one of my favourite with smokey prawns, fish, chicken tikka, tender tandoori chicken and kebab. Also got the stir-fried mixed vegetables with North Indian spices which were surprisingly spicy to me but so damn shiok! And my must-order every time I'm eating Indian is definitely the guilt-inducing Butter Chicken - boneless juicy chicken cooked in yep, BUTTER, tomato paste and masala; creamy and so full of flavour I couldn't stop dipping the papadum!
Don't say bojio, but Deliveroo's having a Indian Week with 1-for-1 promotion from participating merchants in the coming week of 11th - 17th July. Go on and have a sumptuous Indian food party because you deserve the bestš
