French Toasts
Their Honey Toast ($12) sees a liberally buttered slice of toast drizzled with honey, then served with a side of spice poached pears, ice cream of your choice, and a little crumble over the top. Such a humble desert, but get this my friends: every element is perfectly executed and painstakingly made from scratch. From the tender pears lovingly poached for an hour; the handmade Madagascan vanilla ice cream ridden with beautiful specks of vanilla bean; to the house-baked white bread, slowly toasted over the fire till all that glorious melted butterās absorbed, then given a quick blast on the salamander for that lovely caramelisation on top. Honestly I couldnāt get enough of that buttered toast: so so moist, and that touch of salt really helps balance out all the sugar in this dessert. For those who think butterās bad for you? Newsflash: we are all dying. Every day. Eat some butter before it is too late.
Passes the crack test + moist and butter thick brioche slices + medley of roasted nuts + mixed berries and passionfruit + creamy af pistachio ice cream ā this is an absolute mouthful, but trust me itās THE BOMB. Or you know what donāt trust me, give it a go yourself and then thank me after.
Never any regrets when it comes to this Fancy French. I've made no secret that this is my fave item from Ninja Bowl back when they first opened, and even amidst the newer menu additions I find myself most drawn to this. How not to, when you've got an amazingly fluffy brioche ā homemade whatmore ā lots of fresh fruits (oh them figs ā¤ļø), an epic fig jam, and a tangy-sweet ume syrup? .
And mighty delish too. Two super thick triangles of eggy moist brioche, toasted then further brĆ»lĆ©ed to a crisp, served with a handful of sweet fresh berries, raspberry purĆ©e, and a scoop of creme brĆ»lĆ©e ice cream ā all for $17.50. Good for two and really worth the buck. Generous portion aside, I especially liked how brĆ»lĆ©e-ing the toast lent to a caramelised bittersweet flavour that helped balance out the sweet ice cream. #Burpproved
Thick slices of Gardenia bread, dry and dense, slathered with Skippy's, then topped with an icy scoop of Wall's ā at least that's how it tasted. I like how generous they were with the šš though, so if they'd iron out these kinks I'm sure this'd be quite a satisfying French toast.
The weekends are barely over, and here I am already craving some badass French toast - like the fig one we had two weeks back. Fluffy and moist, crisp on the outside, and just enough sugar to satiate my sweet tooth. Be sure not to skimp on the hazelnut butter, it adds a lovely depth to the whole dish!

First brunch spot in weeks and it was an utter disappointment. We tried the apparently crowd-favourite Brioche French Toast, served with caramelised bananas, salted caramel and fresh cream. The thick slices of pan-fried brioche, though buttery and fragrant, were utterly dry. None of that egg-soaked goodness, nope. It makes a good brioche but a horrid French toast. The accompanying 'salted caramel' was over-roasted, burnt, and extremely odd-tasting. It wasn't salted nor any bit caramel-ly. This was frankly one of the worst French toasts I've had, and a huge waste of S$10.
Doesn't look too flattering, but this French toast will blow your mind away. Wholly drenched in the luscious egg mix, then pan-fried to a char, the slices of brioche were moist and fluffy on the inside, every bite melting into buttery-eggy goodness. If you're a fan of the sweet brunch item, be sure to give this a try on your next visit.
Popped by this weekend, and by jolly was I surprised by this. The flavours were stellar - perfect for those with an aching sweet tooth - toast was super crisp and moist, and that fig jam š loves. I liked that the fruits, figs especially, were slightly under-riped and tart, adding both a lovely crunch and contrasting flavour to the dessert dish. Only mini peeve I had, was that the toast was too moist on the insides and lacked that fluffy cloud-like sponge I would've loved.
Seem to be having terrible luck with melting ice cream over the weekends! Still, that didn't change just how damn awesome this was. Crisp on the outside, fluffy and so so moist on the inside, topped with a scoop of earthy, nutty, Okinawa ice cream. Peeved that the ice cream's melted, but I'd gobble it any day for these fantastic flavours.
I've never been able to hold myself back when I see French toast on any menu, but I'm glad I didn't this time. French toast was super eggy, moist, fluffy, and aggressively sweetened (in a better-than-you-can-imagine way). Loved the semifreddo that came with lots of - maybe a tad too much - nuts, and gave the whole dish a lot more texture.
Went there for their pancakes, and didn't think I'd found another stellar dish. As of today: BEST FRENCH TOAST. EVER. Insanely moist brioche, boasting a superb char along the edges (no seriously, it was crisp and all caramlise-y), and melt-in-your-mouth insides. It soaked up all the juices from the roasted berries, lending to a fireworks of flavours and textures. Haven't finished my sweet brunch dishes in awhile, but this I mopped all up in no time.
