A small and cute cafe under a HDB block at Circuit Road.
We tried their waffle with Chocolate Brownie and Tiramisu ice cream. The waffle is not bad, but the ice cream is probably not the best out there!
The staff are really friendly tho, and the space is nice and cosy.
The scrambled eggs really elevate the dish so I highly recommend adding it!! The eggs are soo silky
Overall enjoyable and well-executed for a burger from a non-specialty place - 2 small soft shell crabs, a runny yolk sunny side up, caramelised onions and generous pepperings of furikake, sandwiched between buttered brioche buns. The soft shell crabs were crisp but not over-fried.
Itās pricey for the portion but the quality is good!
I think this cookie has a cult following LOL so itās reputation precedes it. Cookie preferences are quite idiosyncratic, so Iām just gonna describe the cookie (after a 3 min heat up and some cooling time for it to crisp up).
Itās a hefty, chewy-type cookie with crisp tops and edges. The thickness in the middle means that the insides are quite underbaked, so if youāre squirmish about raw cookie dough, this might not be for you (note however that chewy/soft textures usually are only achievable through slight under-baking). I wouldnāt clearly call it a chewy cookie, but itās definitely not cakey (like benās cookies).
The quality of the ingredients are ok but not particularly high, and I would have preferred cookie butter to the dulce de leche they used for the centre of the cookie. Enjoyable indulgence, but abit too pricey. I personally donāt need that extra lotus biscuit and a half on top, but I get that itās a presentation thing.
I actually expected ricotta curds based on the dish name so I was surprised that it more closely resembled a dip. Nonetheless I really enjoyed the creamy, sweetish dip with the lightly toasted ciabatta. The drizzle of olive oil (over the toasts), in concert with the yogurt-like dip, reminded me abit of the likes of Greek/Mediterranean-type cuisines
I love burpple beyond!!!! This beautiful sous vide turkey sandwich is so worth it with the app!! And itās huge so I ate it over 2 meals. The turkey is unbelievably tender and juicy and the bacon adds a flavour punch. Such a good sandwich I canāt stop raving about it.
Really wanted to like and support this place cause theyāre always so empty but Iām sad to say that this wasnāt good :(
The set is comes with a soup + salad + sandwich + drink. The french onion soup and iced lemon tea were pretty standard, not good but not terrible. The salad was a few of leaves topped with a ready-made sauce squeeze from a tube. But the sandwich though - baguette that was likely to be frozen and thawed in the fridge (it wasnāt even reheated) and 2 slices of super dry roast beef. :( wish cafes would take more pride in the food they served!!
The set is SO worth it!! Only available at around 2pm onwards tho I think. The ondeh ondeh cake was not bad, though it was nothing special - the cake layers could be fluffier and more moist. And they offer gryphon tea!!
This was pretty good!! The sweet potato flavour is reminiscent of roasted, caramelised sweet potato. I donāt usually get sweet potato flavour stuff so Iām not sure if they usually taste like that - not savoury and pleasantly sweet. Overall a really balanced drink, the sweet potato goes well with the cashew nut milk.
My first time trying this legendary mochi donut and I LOVE IT!!! If uāre into mochi, thereās not much far wrong you can go with ordering this. Chewy and crisp and sweet š¤¤ the flavour of the soft serve is not bad, tho I donāt feel like there was a distinct cream cracker taste.
Was SO excited to chance upon this place because itās so rare to see non dairy drink options at such affordable prices!! The tea latte is amazing, the homemade cashew milk was so creamy and the flavours were perfectly balanced. 10/10 would recommend and I see myself coming here very often :)
Had pretty high expectations but I felt like the pancakes could be a lot fluffier. They were a little dense so I realised most tables couldnāt finish their stack. The chocolate melts when you pour maple butter over it tho so that was really nice.
