Cafes For Days
We stopped in for a mid morning snack of kaya/butter and honey/fruit French toast AND milo dinosaurs. All of this total was $13.90! The French toast is fluffy and the kaya is flavorful! I will definitely be coming back for more local favorites!
Um, chocolate crĂȘpe ($12, add ice cream for $4), hazelnut crĂȘpe ($12), and butter sugar lemon crĂȘpe($10 and my personal favorite) were all so delicious. I had stopped in The Daily Roundup before for their bright and fresh cold press juices (orange + grapefruit pictured here), but today their cozy lighting and the smell of crĂȘpes lured me in for breakfast. So glad I took the time because they were so delicious!
The Populus scramble was SO MUCH delicious food!! The French toast was delicious but the yogurt added to it was really the winner! I enjoyed the tart flavor. Also, delicious coffee!
W39 is a great place for tea - $20 for 2 cakes and 2 drinks. I usually go for the apple crumble and ice cream but decided to branch out today. The peanut butter cake was moist, but the rainbow cake was disappointing. This is because the icing tastes like butter.....it took away from the overall taste, sadly. The coffee was good. Next time I'll go straight for the apple crumble!
Simply Bread delivers just plain good food every time. This morning I stopped in for a mocha and their delicious French toast (have to get there early to get any!). At $7, this breakfast is an absolute steal and is consistently so so tasty. Be sure to ask for cinnamon sugar to mix with your butter + honey. Also, the view is hard to beat - overlooking the Botanics! đ
Atlas AGAIN. Mixed berry compote waffle with ice cream was a perfect Sunday afternoon sweet treat! And of course, blood type: iced latte, so that was an obvious choice.
I got an iced latte and an almond croissant that was simply delightful (make sure to say yes if they ask if you want it warmed). The coffee was delicious and the shop itself was so adorable that I couldn't help staying for an hour while I read. I will definitely be coming back, and probably picking up a bag of their coffee to take home next time!
Brunch at Atlas is thoroughly satisfying. I particularly enjoyed this classic British breakfast and my flat white. On a week day morning things are slow and beautiful in this space. It was the perfect spot to get lost in a book for awhile! I'm so glad that it is so near to my house!
On a Friday night we decided we wanted waffles for our main course AND dessert! We tried the mac & cheese waffle and the southern fried chicken waffle - both delicious. The dessert waffles were what blew us away! Red velvet, chocolate/banana, and mango/berry all topped with complementing ice cream flavors? We were in waffle heaven! We also tried their special coconut water cold brew coffee and it was DELICIOUS. Very reasonable prices too (waffles were on average $14).
