Probably the one thing I’ll miss the most after spending 5 years for 2 pieces of papers in NTU is the accessibility to this stall that sells great ramen at affordable prices.

The previous time I posted about this, the pet peeve i had was about how the pork belly here was a little over done but subsequent visits have proven that I had merely caught them on an off day. The pork belly were always tender and well flavoured in my subsequent visits.

My favourite part about the ramen here is still the flavourful broth though. You could see how rich it is as it begins to thicken if you leave it untouched for a while (probably because the “camera” eats before you)

Simple, no-frills fare. Disappointed that the dishes are cold though, even the curry.

This is definitely one of the best school food ever. The tonkotsu broth is thick and creamy while the black garlic added a ton of fragrance to the broth. The noodles were springy and I also appreciate that there was a slight char on the pork belly that elevated its fragrance. The only drawback here, however, was that the meat was a little too dry. If it were to be more tender and juicy, this will be a hands down 10/10 (at least for school food). Perhaps I should add a flavour egg next time too 🤔

Just in case any one of you wants to try this, this is at Canteen 13 in NTU!

The legendary BCM at NIE Canteen will be gone in a couple of month's time. No idea if they are shutting for good or moving somewhere else but this is a good time for you to come and enjoy a hearty bowl of noodles with overflowing ingredients at an insanely cheap price.

This is my first time trying their fishball noodles after having BCM for so many times and I love it as well. The fishballs were firm but springy!

Talk of the campus was this new stall at Canteen 13 and it certainly was not bad at all! Sauce was pretty good although could be more robust and the chicken retained its juices and was tender ◡̈ another word that comes with this dish is "generous"! Ah Pek couldn't finish everything on the plate.
Anyway, last week to enjoy Nets' 50cents off promotion at selected hawker centers and school canteens. All you have to do is to use PayLah! or similar apps! Get $5 in your PayLah! wallet when you register for DBS PayLah! with referral code SHETIN879 ◡̈

Because pigged out too much over the past weekend so I had to start Monday on a green note. For only $3.50, you get a base of greens and 4 choices of toppings and a side, complete with a dressing of your choice. Add an additional dollar for another side to beef up your meal like I did! But there's currently a promotion at the NIE Canteen whereby you get 50cents off every meal if you pay thru PayLah! or a similar app. And if you have yet to download PayLah!, let me buy your first meal. Heard good things about Canteen 9's mala and decided to give a try. Prices are very reasonable, we got this + 2 bowls of rice for $12.50. However, was pretty disappointed by the mala here as it was purely 辣 (spicy) with no 麻 (numb) at all. And the essence of mala, at least imo, is the appropriate numbness that the dish gives. Still standing by my verdict that Canteen 1 has the best mala in NTU regardless of the rave reviews that this place has

Long queues are to be expected at this one! This one joined the ranks of the NIE BCM as the most popular stall at the canteen. The noodles are springy and doesn't clump together like some of those you get elsewhere while the sauce is flavourful. Chilli is extremely spicy while the soup is robust.

Not really a fan of Northspine Food Court when I'm in school but if I have to eat there, I will always fall back on a comforting bowl of pig organ soup. The broth was clear and slightly sweet and was brimming with ingredients. A little pricey for canteen food but comforting nonetheless. .

There's a new pasta place in Canteen B where you can customise your own pasta. I got my aglio olio with sous vide egg and smoked duck meat for just $3.30 at Pasta Express and it's not too bad, 3.5/5 maybe? Probably my favouritest stall at can B now.

Finally a decent dessert place in school; this Nutella tart is one of the first that isn't too jelat to finish on your own. Definitely will be back for more :)

I thought everything salted egg and everything cereal would be nice but boy was I wrong. There wasn't a tinge of salted egg taste in this dish at all and the chicken was tough as hell. Felt as though the chicken was deep fried a couple of times and was definitely not fresh. Stick to western food when you are in Can 4!
