Come here for the food, really. Perfect poached eggs that burst with yolk and flavor ontop of shredded ham, add the side of bacon ($3) to mop up the yolky mess after devouring.

Hidden away in a corner of Ngee Ann city, this hidden cafe deserves your attention with it's selection of Japanese inspired food.

For $14.80, the double decker tonkatsu sandwich is a huge undertaking. Built with 2 crunchy toasts, slightly spicy mustard, and 2 crispy breaded pork katsu, it is wonderful if massive, even for a big eater like me.

The Fried Egg Power ($12) is comfort breakfast food and a good start of the day. With tomatoes, fried egg, crispy bacon bits, mash taters, topped with cheddar and their slightly spicy mayo sauce, my one and only complaint is the price.

Oddly enough, their coffee (Iced Black, $5), on the wee sour side, pairs nicely with the tangy taste this sandwich brings.

The Big breakfast, available on their brunch menu, is superior to other offerings from other cafes. Perfectly sauteed mushrooms paired with pork belly and tomatoes, a homemade bread topped with egg completed this sumptuous meal. ($19) I wished there were more vegetables, but I can sing nothing but praises for this.

This Cafe's chill ambience with it's superior menu, has won a loyal, returning customer.

To make a real good filtered coffee is by no means an easy feat. The Gishubi beans from Africa is fruity yet light and easy, absent is the astringency of most local coffees, making this a welcoming, pleasant coffee.

With it's chill ambience and superior menu, this cafe has found a loyal, returning customer.

A gimmicky cafe that serves dark, not too sweet chocolate, is as only as good as the quality of the drinks it serves.

Their chocolate cube hazelnut latte is served with frozen chocolate hazelnut cubes, a bottle of warm milk and an espresso shot. While definitely fresh, it has a rich chocolate bite that roughens the drink. It isn't my jam, but it's a new experience of coffee that isn't made from flavoured syrup.

A sour, fruity cold brew (Dapper Cold Fashioned, $6) served in an old fashioned garnished with grapefruit, it is not as harsh and sour compared to other local fares.

The place is cozy and beautiful especially in the morning. A great place to chill.

The Sea Salt Caramel Cheesecake ($10) is different from other cheesecake for some reason. Less sweet, and pairing nicely with the strawberries and raspberry sauce, try it.

The real surprise however is the Feather's Coffee ($8), a latte with a mountain of meringue, slightly burnt. The lemony sourness is an odd pair with the semi sweet coffee. It might be a little too weird, but is something that might satisfy sweet tooths who dislike too sweet stuff.

A very fancy cafe just outside the gantry of Tanjong Pagar, the quality is as good as the furnishings. The affogato coming free with the 3 piece pastry (only for June 2017, $7.50), it's way more fancy than it looks. Subtle hints of orange and apricot compliments the rich vanilla mixed with a bitter blend of coffee.

One of the better coffees ($5.90 iced) I've tasted, this place might become a new regular place to visit for me.

While the presentation could use more color, this brunch item (till 3pm) genuinely surprised me with the creamy duck confit ($17) infused with sweet potato, caramalised onions and cheese.

While appearance at first may be lacking, the waffles are really good, soft and creamy which works well with the fragrant though abit dry chicken. The warm maple sauce sweetly compliment the dish, lifting it to an even greater level; though at 21$ it is a little steep.

Fresh, creamy scallops that tastes like the sea. If you like that fishy taste, you can't go wrong with this.
