An excellent piece of cod by the people over at P.S Cafe, fresh and done just right. Topped off with a grilled aubergine, roasted pumpkin and a soba salad on the side. What I love most about this place though, is the ambience that made my dining experience an absolute pleasure
Why this is the hottest and most value-for-money tendon in town right now: For $13.90, you get a glorious donburi heaped with jumbo prawns, succulent slabs of chicken breast, vegetables, and a wobbly onsen egg, all fried to a golden crisp laid on a glistening bed of deliciously fragrant (lightly vinegared) Japanese rice. And chawanmushi and miso soup on the side. And a lingering tempura scent/stench on you the rest of the night as a parting gift.

This week I followed @Burpple Guide, Chirashi Don and tried the Don at Sumiya Charcoal Grill Izakaya. .

For S$18.80++, I had green tea, miso soup, salad, Chawanmushi, Chirashi Don and mochi. The diced sashimi had the right bite size and the ikura served as the savory seasoning. .

But to determine how good was their lunch set, we must look at their sides. In this case of 18.80, theirs were heavenly. The prawn hiding in the Chawanmushi still remained springy. Once bite into the mochi, it's vanilla cream quickly covered the palate and followed by an explosion of sesame filling.

Side note: Go hungry.
The additional avocado gave creaminess to the sushi rice. The ratio between rice to fish was close to 1 to 1. However, don't expect premium cut for the Don (you might find some bites slightly chewy).
