Long overdue post! This is one of the better charashi don I had. It seems like the price increased and quantity shrunk compared to a year back (probably they got more popular). They were hosting a large group beside us so the food served rather slow and ambience was too noisy. Can’t seem to find a reason to return again.
Premium Chirashi Don has quite a generous portion of chunky seasoned sashimi like tuna, salmon, octopus, ikura and a medium size prawn. All valued at $20. Sushi rice was a little too sticky, and not quite season. Can definitely be better.
Salmon Sashimi Don was priced at $12, with good amount of sashimi slices. The salmon sushi was prepared in 3 different ways - Sashimi, torched and another was supposed to have mentaiko (but removed as friend is allergic to mayo). This was good too! Sadly scallop mentaiko was sold out otherwise would have order to try.
This is really nice and valuable for money!
It's great to have friends to share triple flavored ice cream when u can't decide which individual ice cream you want. Recommend the classic rich matcha and Hokkaido milk soft serve! Roasty Houjicha ice cream is too heavy for me. It's topped with azuki beans, rice crisp, shiratama and jap biscuit. Yums!
Best and Recommended Dish: Bara Chirashi Don filled with generous portion of seasoned sashimi cubes at an affordable price of $13.80. Comes with a bowl of miso soup too! Yums!
Kushi Mori, a mixed skewer platter of 10 sticks for sharing with friends. Includes mushroom, chicken yakitori, smoked duck cubes, beef cubes, quail eggs, bacon with oysters and bacon with cherry tomatoes at only $19.80.
Next must try is their delectable spicy salmon maki at $12.80 for 8 pcs. Crispy ebi wrapped with sushi rice and topped with spicy mentaiko sauce salmon sashimi.
Each pax paid about $25.
Recommend this new Japanese Restaurant in Bugis - Senjyu! Here serves premium quality Japanese food. The golden roll is very savory with the tangy mango served. Plating is like an art piece! The Shake Mentaiko (not captured in pic) - serves with generous amount of Mentaiko. Chawamushi is great, big chunks of fillings were found within and ample amount of salmon roes. Food are dazzling surprising and above my expectations. Senjyu is a sister company of sakae sushi but service and food is definitely above and beyond sakae standard! What's best, currently there is a special promo of 50% off the menu. Original bill was supposed to be $108 but after discount bill amounted to $54. Will likely return again! Satisfied meal overpowered the moodiness today!
This is located at Wisma Level 4, next to Food Republic. It is one of the best affordable sushi bar you can find in Orchard! We went during post lunch period around 4.30pm. There was no crowd and we did not have to wait. Sadly Out of 3 sections, 2 sections were closed and customers have to share table. Probably the only thing I did not like. Shiok Maki is a must try here. There is 2 types - 1st Gen is with Eel and 2nd Gen is with deep fried ebi! Love the 2nd Gen Maki, the sauce is so savory which enhances the taste of the maki! Yummilious! Not being a fan of century egg I still randomly ordered the Pitan Tofu. The taste is not too century eggy (some may be like me hating the yolk taste, it's less of this taste) and it's acceptable for me. We order the premium sashimi set. 5 types of sashimi and loves the salmon belly. All in all, we spent abt $80 for 2 pax. Worth the try!
This is one of the good ramen in town. Expect long queue on a Friday evening. I ordered the non-spicy ramen. Unlike the usual pork broth, they use chicken broth which is rich and creamy! The fats in the meat melts in your mouth. The seaweed is different too! Matches the broth well. Egg is a must order but the one I had, yolk wasn't flowy. Ramen is perfectly cooked at my preference. Chewy and not too hard. You can add Garlic chips to your liking!
