Pancakes

The sweet, gloriously scented and earnestly fluffy pancakes had the salesmanship of a coconut-shampooed, blazer-donning Isetan cosmetics agent - you aren't just being sold pancakes but also pandan-induced nostalgia, and these guys hit the pandan quotient just right. 3.9/5

The fragrance of lemongrass makes an instant, impressive debut but it is quickly overshadowed by the vivacious sexiness of the mixed berry compote, a delirious combination of sweet, squirm-inducing tarty and, in the case of one particularly naughty berry, rather improper in-mouth squirtage for which it should be duly punished. 4.1/5

The pancakes were extremely aromatic and rather buttery, and reminded me of the fragrance and texture of a slightly uncooked Prima Deli waffle. The crunchy ondeh ondeh filling was sweet and quite legit, while the vanilla ice cream sat pretty and assisted whenever the proceedings got dry. Do share though, as it gets a bit samey after a while. 3.7/5

Fairly competent, although methinks the pancakes should have used sunblock with a higher SPF and in-built moisturising properties. However, the portion of the yogurt-esque mascarpone cheese is generous enough such that every mouthful of pancake can be suitably slathered with cream, and the fruits are on hand for some moist and natural sweetness. 3.7/5
