Only In Indonesia
My fly-attracting mee goreng and sis's gado gado, together with my banana lassi and complementary keropok. ā¢
The restaurant is only opened for lunch and dinner. Pros and cons for each is that when you dine for lunch, there is the awesome view but rather hot weather. Whereas at night, you have the cooling temperatures but have to contend with the wind and you can't see the sea. ā¢
At the airport now awaiting my flight. Can't believe my short getaway is going to be over so soon. Thanks to @cao0o who gave me so many recommendations but I didn't manage to try them because I was eating out only at Amed.
Yesterday night at dinner, it was very windy and anything light would have been blown off. Today, flies had a strange obsession for my mee goreng. Nonetheless, the view here is awesome!
Two hours after breakfast at the hotel, and I'm back at Warung Pantai having BBQ mahi-mahi, orange juice and fried bananas. The fish is caught fresh every day and the owner even showed me a huge just-caught mahi-mahi fish! ā¢
The fish is shiok and spicy! If you can't take spicy food, you can request for less spicy, but I think the spiciness makes the dish tasty. I would have preferred the banana to come with something, some sauce would be good. ā¢
Lunch in another two hours!
Warung Pantai came highly recommended by the proprietors of our hotel. This road and sea side restaurant serves tasty and authentic Indonesian cuisine, which we have been missing at our stay in Club Med. A filling meal for two here (alcohol drinks, mains and dessert) cost around SGD$13! It's no wonder why we continue having our meals here.
In order to dine at this seafood restaurant, you need to make a reservation at the Reception Counter at 8pm the day before, no earlier. GMs (that's us, guests at Club Med are known as Gentle Members) will start queuing from 7.40pm and by 8pm, the queue will be pretty long.
Of all the three nights that we have been there, we have only managed to dine here tonight. We learnt our lesson and started queuing earlier.
A bit tired of only taking food pictures from Club Med, but it makes no sense to go out because everything in covered here. Can't wait to explore and try the local cuisine when I get to Amed.
Breakfast in the morning was like a competition as everyone was rushing as soon as the food hit the buffet section. And everything would be gone in seconds. Fortunately, I was the first few in the line for these.
Lunch was international and dinner featured more local favourites. The satay had the longest queue.
There must always be space for dessert. Chocolate brownie in the foreground and panna cotta (which tastes more like a vanilla pudding) were the plated desserts today.
What I like about Club Med is that while it is a resort for families, they respect privacy of adults. During lunch, we dined at an adults-only dining area.
And more punishment in the form of this yummy waffle topped with caramelised bananas š for, get this, SGD$3.75! That's right, really affordable and tasty waffle. The chocolate and apple compote waffle sounded just as delicious!
