I had a mix of blue and pink macaron with hazelnut chocolate ice cream, topped with digestive biscuit crumbs. What a happy child I was when I got such a cute little delicious thing! Love the freedom of choice here! Pick your macaron shells color, ice cream flavour, and any toppings you like!
Hazelnut chocolate and coffee is one of their famous ice cream flavored. The ice cream wasn't too sweet, had more of a gelato smooth and creamy texture than usual other ice creams. I can say their ice creams are of quite a good quality, not sure if it's homemade.
However, don't deceived by my picture! The macaron ice cream is smaller than it looks. Almost like 2 1/2 inch in diameter or just like the size of the Texas Chicken biscuit.
Macarons shells were delicious and sweet. Beware of crumbs and mess when you bite into your ice cream, brain and teeth freeze right after!
My whole combination got a little too sweet when I was half way through. But nothing stops me from finishing something with ice cream. My love for ice cream is strong!
Food: 8/10 Price: 8/10 (RM 9.90 for the whole thing, additional charges if you want more than one topping and what not.) PS. Don't fret if you can't track them down. There's another permanent macaron ice cream store (but different name) at Nu Sentral too! The Cream and Fudge Factory.
Oh well. I can always something else and the soufflĂŠ some other time.
The "orijinaru" aka original pancake is a simple thick fluffy pancake served with a small dollop of whipped cream and maple syrup. The vanilla ice cream is a chargeable add on. All on your choice.
The soufflĂŠ pancake didn't taste as good as the ones that was more gourmet like matcha & azuki toppings or the berry toppings. Because I get to try purely the pancake, it tasted more floury. I thought it was uncooked but I guess that's what you get for having such a thick pancake.
So little cream on top! That's weird because they were really generous with it to be able to fool us to be ice cream on the French toast. But anyway, the pancake wasn't my favourite on its own. Luckily I decided to add on the vanilla soft serve aka softee which made the whole dessert better.
Wait was 15 minutes as I called it to be served after my main dishes.
I suggest asking them to serve the desserts when you're about to finish the mains so that you don't have to wait. Or serve it together with the main. But if you don't mind, let the food digest a little to enjoy your desserts ay? âşď¸ Food: 6/10 Price: 6/10 (RM 13.02+RM 2.64 ;GST included)
Feeling a little peckish and I miss having this scoop of Milk Chocolate Chip in a Vanilla waffle cone.
Walked under the scorching sun at Bangsar Telawi and decided to stop by for ice cream. Just what I needed!
Smooth, creamy, cold and satisfying. Nice balance between milk chocolate and the chocolate chip/cookies. A bit like milo, but it's totally different! They have their own milo dinosaur flavour.
Another premium flavour. Yum!
Cool presentation but the dry ice effect dies off in a minute.
Not your average vanilla/milk softserve ice cream but it has some cereal taste to it. Quite like a delicious creamy & frozen nestum. Texture of the ice cream is so smooth! The cereals doesn't bother you at all. It just adds great addictive ice cream effect. Hehehe
CHURROS! The churros were delicious! I recommend this topping if you can't decide on their variations because they have the best churros I've tasted. Devour it with softsrve of your choice. YUM!
Next up is the deep chocolate with truffles. So good! Rich and chocolatey. Definitely a go to for chocolate soft serve ice cream. Chocolate bittersweet goodness. And the truffle definitely tastes like the ones in London that I missed dearly! So much bittersweet goodness. If you are a chocolate lover, I recommend this delicious dessert to you! Where else would you find chocolate soft serve as good as this?
The chocolate can be a little filling and not as "light" as you dig in especially if you ordered this combination (chocolate overkill). But it's nice when you share it with someone and wash it down with some free water next to the counter.
Food: 8/10 Price: 6/10 (RM 11 - cereal milk churros, RM 12 - chocolate truffles; serving size was much more generous than Milkcow, although it was a little deceiving to have such a big cup of dry ice and a smaller one on top for the ice cream)
Mission Verdict: 1/3 woohoo! Best tasting soft serve ever! Call me biased but this was my first visit and I already know it's very different from McD. I don't really like comparing with the RM 1 sundae anyway because it's a good pick me up on desperate days. But I will not say softsrve is the "expensive McD". A very far fetched statement. It's like comparing ais kacang and korean bingsu. Different lahh.
Of course for our mission, we needed to try McD sundae cone as well. I haven't had this in ages but I do remember how comforting and how full of childhood memories it has.
But I'm not sure if I was spoiled by artisan ice creams and lower sugar tolerance but I think the standards have dropped. This cone that we had from McDonalds Mid Valley was very powdery and full of sugar. Yes there was a hint of vanilla. Not like I was expecting McDonalds to give us real vanilla beans but I do expect them to have some balance with sugar and vanilla. I'm starting to get worried for all the children who bought the cone that day.
In my opinion, I would not compare this basic ice cream fix with artisanal ice creams. The aim of our mission was to justify how far fetched comparing McD with Artisan ice creams.
Again, Softserve bars other than McD exist for a reason and McD exist for a reason. This is what marketing is about. Competitors exist and they are all differentiated and try to be better than another.
It's better to compare something of same status than something as far as the sun and the earth. (I was gonna say Pluto and Earth but Pluto is gone đ) Mission Verdict: 3/3 - far fetched even from Milkcow and Softsrve. Maybe the tastemakers are food snobs with highly sensitive tastebuds that can taste the difference of quality. But we food enthusiasts and reviewers would love to bring good food to you, yet justify things for their worth of money. Not throwing things into a large slump.
PS. NO HARD FEELINGS MCD FANS. I still reward it for being the best quick ice cream fix. :)
Smooth and milky. It was seriously like pure milk ice cream. Not much vanilla taste. VERY MILKY. If you love milk, I recommend this place for you. đ I quite like this milky soft serve but as usual I was not very happy with the small portion and expensive price. đ Another flavour that we couldn't resist trying was the milky pop. Basically the Milky Way ice cream with Garrets popcorn and caramel sauce. Sweet! Was what this cup of cold goodness was shouting. Those with sweet tooth and high sugar tolerance would love this. The popcorns goes really well with the ice cream!
Next the milky shot. The affogato by Milk Cow. TRY THIS! This flavour can be my next favourite because the bitter and sweet taste blended really well together. Maybe because coffee usually goes well with milk and instead of the usual vanilla ice cream affogato, this pure milk ice cream brings affogato to a whole new level. Yay!
Food: 7/10 Price: 5/10 (RM8.50 - Milky Way; RM 11.50 - Milky Shot and Milky Pop. Honestly the portion sizes are very small for the price. But RM 8.50 for just the ice cream isn't too bad. But for the others it is really overpriced.) Mission verdict: Rank 2/3. Smoother and purer than McD. But just as sweet. The variations adds choices and fun to eating Milkcow. Milky Shot balances the sweetness though.
