Weekends are finally here! And it's the long weekends.. Have something sweet to kickstart your weekends (from the glutton in me, not the nutritionist I am) The mango has a thin caramelised layer that adds a slight crunch and sweetness. The basil sauce was a very unique touch and actually went quite well with it. The coconut ice cream was indeed coconuty and creamy.
Rochor Thai prides itself on not using MSG in any of their dishes and aims to serve authentic Thai food, so you may find some dishes that you haven't seen in other Thai restaurants (in Singapore). Get your appetite going with the Som Tum, a green papaya salad tossed in a zesty, spicy, savoury dressing and topped with peanuts to provide crunch. Don't miss the Salt Crusted Whole Tilapia - it doesn't look like much, but the salt crust packs in the moisture so you get soft, fresh fish that's perfectly cooked. The grilled pork collar is tender, flavourful, and goes exceedingly well with the accompanying Thai chilli dipping sauce. This is one place you can leave without feeling thirsty ;)
Sweet mangoes and sticky glutinous rice with warm coconut milk. Favourite.
Olive rice, red curry w beef, fish cake and cotton fish w mango. Authentic Thai food that is delicious and tasty without being overly oily or salty. Their prices are comparable to outside but served in small portions. You pay for the quality after all!
Thick fragrant durian flesh blanketed over sweet glutinous rice and topped w coconut milk. More sinful and more gelard than its mango counterpart, but so satisfying.. βΊοΈ
- lightly crisp toast, like a good marriage between kaya toasted bread and a brioche, drizzled with honey, with scoops of vanilla ice cream and decorated with strawberries and almonds.
Never tried Honey Shibuya Toast from BKK After You, but I imagined it would taste abit like this. Anyone tried both and tell me is my imagination doing it justice? π

It comes along with fresh prawns, fish slices and squid. I liked the tom yam soup which seems more authentic as it is more to the sour side then the usual Singapore spicy version! #burpple
This bowl of goodness consists of the important traits of a tom yum soup; spicy and sour which tasted quite decent.
It turned out a little harder than expected and less spicy, would be better if its more moist, tender and spicy!
A unique Thai-Chinese fusion dish which has pineapple cubes and grapes added, along with more than 15 herbs and spices. First try at this got me liking how good and different it tasted.
My fav dish out of this tasting would be this! The special homemade broth is what makes it so yummy all of us were raving about it. Infused with fresh lime juice, garlic, chilli, spring onions etc made it light yet evokes sense of lingering spiciness that makes you want for more. Must have!
